The distinction of objects lies in the fact that the five consciousnesses apply terms to objects, which is a restatement of the previously explained meaning. Here, when the five consciousnesses arise simultaneously, does the conceptual consciousness that corresponds to them give rise to five consciousnesses with different natures? Or does only one arise? If it is like the former, then it is unreasonable, because the experiential measure has proven that it is impossible to generate multiple conceptual thoughts simultaneously. Moreover, as it is said: "Thus, these discriminations arise in sequence, and are truly understood." Therefore, the wise men of the past said so. If it is like the latter, then the appearances of the five objects seem contradictory, so it cannot be one. If asked: Is it so? There is no fault, because here it is not the case that multiple conceptual consciousnesses arise simultaneously, because there is the hindrance of the previously explained measure. The noble "Samdhinirmocana Sutra" also says: "Even if the five arise simultaneously, among those five aggregates of consciousness, the conceptual consciousness of mind with the same realm of experience also arises only once." If so, if that one consciousness manifests the appearances of the five objects, then as previously stated, it cannot be one because the appearances are contradictory. If it manifests the appearance of any one object, then it does not conform to the meaning of the sutra "having the same realm of experience as the five." If asked: Is it so? No, because it manifests the appearance of the object of previous habituation, etc. The so-called "same as the five" does not necessarily mean that this one consciousness must have the same realm of experience as the five, but rather it has the same realm of experience as any one object that possesses the causes and conditions of habituation, etc. Here, the non-conceptual consciousness arising from proximity may arise in multiple forms, but no measure that can establish it has been seen. Thus, after restating the previous meaning, the meaning of the present is declared, that is, "when entering into such samadhi," etc. When the six consciousnesses enter into such samadhi, even for yogis who enter into cessation samadhi, etc., there are habits of the consciousness of entering samadhi existing in the alaya-consciousness, which is the continuously entering consciousness of samadhi.
