印度语:Ārya Laṅkāvatāra nāma mahāyāna sūtra vṛtti tathāgata hṛdaya alaṅkāra nāma。

The commentary on the Mahayana Sutra called "Holy Laṅkāvatāra," called "The Ornament of the Tathāgatagarbha." The commentary on the Mahayana Sutra called "Holy Laṅkāvatāra," called "The Ornament of the Tathāgatagarbha." In Sanskrit: Ārya Laṅkāvatāra nāma mahāyāna sūtra vṛtti tathāgata hṛdaya alaṅkāra nāma. In Tibetan: The commentary on the Mahayana Sutra called "Holy Laṅkāvatāra," called "The Ornament of the Tathāgatagarbha." I prostrate to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Who is the ocean of the Ālayavijñāna, and the place where the various appearances of consciousness like waves arise? Completely transformed into the self-aware wisdom of each individual, like a cloudless sky, free from elaboration and without stain, yet with compassion, sees beings as oneself, possessing the sound and appearance of a thunderbolt that shatters rocks. Is the boat of the river of suffering, the great treasure that fulfills desires, the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Whose light of speech opens the lotus of wisdom for myself and others, burning and frightening the thickets of wrong views such as Serkya. I bow to the lotus feet of the root guru, the source of the Three Jewels. In order to clarify the way of the Madhyamaka of the Mind-Only, which completely abandons the two extremes, I will clarify the meaning of the Sutra. Intentional and suggestive meanings, direct and definitive meanings, the way the Protector taught the Sutra, this distinction is the definitive meaning. Therefore, those who wish to explain the precious Sutra of the Bhagavan should first state the necessity of the Sutra. As it is said (in the Sutra): Hearing the great meaning of the Sutra, for taking and holding, the listener will enter, therefore the necessity should be stated. This is because the previous teachers have said so. In this regard, it should be understood from four aspects: what is to be expressed, the necessity, the connection, and the necessity of the necessity. So, what is the nature of the expressive Sutra that is related to these necessities and connections? The collection of many interconnected nouns, words, and letters belonging to this Sutra, relying on the various appearances of consciousness, or some qualities of the wisdom that transforms it, is able to lead to the determination of the meaning to be expressed, this is the characteristic of the expressive Sutra itself.
