If it is not on either side of existence or non-existence, then these will not become contradictions of mutual exclusion and complete exclusion, because a third thing that is neither of the two has arisen. If, again, in the context of establishing the ultimate truth, it is argued that "because there is an appearance that is neither existence nor non-existence," it is not established, because there, even the appearance itself is not admitted. Also, if, in the context of establishing the conventional truth, it is argued that "because there is an appearance that is neither of the two," it is also not established, because in that case, it is not admitted that the phenomenon of mere appearance is separate from all sides of existence and non-existence. If you say that, there is no fault, because relying on the phenomenon of appearance and experience, ordinary reasoners examine whether it is existence or non-existence in this very case, whether it is the occasion of determining the ultimate or the conventional, because in that case, if one admits the phenomenon of mere appearance, and then says that there is no side of existence or non-existence, then it will become the previous fault, and if it is not so, even if some aspects are established, because of the harm of the previous valid cognitions, the existing thing does not exist in the ultimate, and because the mere appearance is not prevented, the meaning of union exists like an illusion. Moreover, since there is no valid cognition that harms the admission of other similar aspects, it is also unreasonable to say that the admission of others is prevented. This meaning also comes from the Sutra of Great Faith, among the twenty-eight non-dharmic views that are spoken of, this is the view of not admitting views, just as it is said in the sutra: "Among them, the view of not admitting is that the bodhisattva who observes the sign of non-existence thinks thus: For all these phenomena that are non-existent, if I argue with others, I will not admit any side, I will only be non-grasping, therefore it is called the view of not admitting." It is said like that. Not establishing is also the characteristic of what is to be established, without desire, grasping with the hook of desire, the motivation of admitting without admitting, bound by the rope of illusion. It is like that. Thus, the nature of mind itself prevents the real thing of the ultimate truth,

That which is merely experienced, free from elaboration and luminous, is shown as the essence of the Thus-gone. And purifying it, such as the stages of the path, will be explained below. Here, the meaning to be understood is briefly shown, and that is all. Now, let us enter the text itself. So, what are the non-things? Whatever those are not of the nature of self, the meaning is that those appearing as causes and qualities, etc., those are not of the nature of things, that is, not such things, do not exist, this is in the form of negation, present in front of the mind of the conceptualizer. If it is said, what is the basis of negation for those things and non-things? The conceptualization of characteristics, those impermanent, arising from the cause of the meaning of things, that is, the other-powered like illusions, each of which is known by themselves. Among them, there is the true, that is, the true existence of things; and the untrue, that is, non-things, inferred by wisdom, and seeing that there is no entry of conceptualization, therefore, the conceptualization of non-things will be abandoned. Here, mentioning things is just incidental. Characteristics are destroyed, and can be destroyed, and so on. By "not true," etc., other names of non-things are shown, even in mere conventional truth, it is also considered to be non-existent, such as being considered to be rabbit horns, etc. The meaning of thinking is merely the appearance of wisdom. It is not said that it appears to exist like a vase, etc., because those appear to be functional in the worldly convention, established as existing, but rabbit horns, etc., do not appear that way. If things and non-things are the objects of conceptualization and become what should be abandoned, then, is conceptualization itself existent and not what should be abandoned? Just as it is said, "How those," etc., because things and non-things cannot be grasped by unerring wisdom, similarly, the objects of conceptualization should also be abandoned, because it is established depending on the object to be observed, and it is the collection of things and non-things themselves. Therefore, by "Therefore," etc., the meaning is briefly shown.

Furthermore, being addressed by names such as "Lord of Lanka," one is instructed on how to associate with others in a different manner. This is explained through two approaches. Firstly, there is instruction on the nature of the Buddha. Here, the term "before" is a conventional term examined by conceptual thought, meaning it is examined by conceptual thought regarding the generality of past events. That is, as previously explained, since it is the very nature of conceptual thought, it is conceptual thought. Such an indicative word is suddenly applied, hence it is called conventional. "Past" and so on, indicate the synonyms of that very conceptual thought. By "Thus Gone One" and so on, the nature of the Thus Gone One and the non-conformity of what you have conceptually examined as past and so on are shown. Its nature is the Dharma-nature inseparable from the sphere and wisdom, so it transcends the elaboration of conceptual thought and what is to be examined. It is not like how children examine and conceptually think about the nature of forms and so on, saying, "This and this are like this." Other than that, it is the direct realization of self-aware wisdom, meaning the bliss of being without outflows. Meditating on such a meaning with wisdom that engages in the signless, is abiding in an unmoving manner. Because the nature of the Thus Gone One is such, therefore, it is the nature of wisdom, the body of wisdom, and is not to be examined. By what is it not to be examined? By mind. To show that extensively, it is "the mind consciousness arising from the cause of the meaning of the object." That too appears as meaning merely in name, and is related through direct or indirect means. What does it mean by 'how is it not to be examined?' There are two meanings: not examining the Thus Gone One as the self of a person, that is, not examining as self, life, and person. Among these, in the sense of protecting pride, it is self, because it generates and protects pride from it. By the power of the life force, it causes the complete portion of the same kind to remain until it is exhausted, so it is life. Relying on actions such as virtue and non-virtue, and causing outflows in the three realms, it is called a person. All belong to the synonyms of a person.
