Since what is to be established by reasoning is the object of inference that is cognized from the sign, if that is absent, then it does not possess the object of inference, therefore it will become non-valid cognition. If here, the teacher Chandrakirti and his followers do not accept their own system's reason and valid cognition, and thus they hold it to be so. However, in the opponent's position, they refute through the door of reasons that become fallacies, if you say that, it is not so, because it will become an admission of what is to be established, which is the same as before. Furthermore, here, the opponent's position that is to be refuted, does it exist? Or will it become non-existent? Or is it admitted as a place of doubt? It should be examined in three ways. Among them, according to the first and last positions, refutation is not appropriate, because it is only understanding the meaning. According to the middle position, then, with what kind of mind, valid cognition or non-valid cognition, is it cognized that the opponent's position is non-existent? It should be examined. Among them, non-valid cognition does not possess the function of cutting off the imputation of objects, therefore it is not a part of cognition. If it is cognized by valid cognition, then the meaning of the occasion will be lost. Furthermore, this phenomenon of mere appearance, is it devoid of being truly existent or non-existent? It cannot be cognized by the direct perception of those who see this side. Therefore, it is necessary to admit inference, so why not admit its reason, that is, one's own system's reason? That is how it is thought. Furthermore, the main path to attain Buddhahood, as shown before, is the Prajnaparamita of knowing reality, and this is also a valid cognition or some kind of lineage of valid cognition, if this is not admitted, then it will be slandering the path, and it will also be slandering its result. Furthermore, the omniscient wisdom is the ultimate valid cognition of yogic direct perception, therefore, this will also become non-existent, so this is merely entering an ocean filled with perversion. Still others think that what is to be refuted here is the knowable or the thing itself that is found in the face of rational analysis, and such a thing is merely a complete negation of the thing, which is what is to be established, because.

If it is said that one is liberated from the previous faults, this is excellent compared to the previous ones. However, the mere negation of exclusion is not the nature of this dharma that exists in the valid conventional truth as an experienced phenomenon, because existence and non-existence in the conventional are contradictory. This point is also extensively explained in the Pramāṇavārttika. Furthermore, if that is the case, then the reason, such as "one" and "many," is also merely a negation of exclusion. Therefore, just as a rabbit does not have horns and a barren woman does not have a son, If there is some difference between these non-existences, then the difference is the nature of a thing, so it should not be negated. If there is no difference, then just as a rabbit does not have horns and a barren woman does not have a son, the reason and the thesis are not valid, why would it not be the same here? If it is said that there is no difference in the nature of mere negation, but conversely, the rabbit's horn and the barren woman's son are not related, so negating other unrelated things would be mistaken for negating one thing as negating another, so the reason and the thesis are not valid. But here, the essence of the object exists, pervaded by "one" and "many" and so on, so negating the pervader does not mistake negating the pervaded, so the reason and the thesis are valid. However, even here, if analyzed, it is not valid. Like this, through the difference of the opposite relationship, if there is some difference from those others that are not in the real reason and the thesis, then it will become the previous fault. If it is not pervasive, then the real meaning of establishing the reason and the thesis is the same as before, so it will become the previous fault. Furthermore, here, relying on the phenomenon of appearance and experience, when analyzing whether this itself exists in suchness, if it is not that the object does not exist, then why would it not become existence? Because existence and non-existence are mutually exclusive, completely cutting off contradictions, so negating one depends on establishing the other. As it is said: Negation is establishment, for existence in non-existence, existence is existence, for non-existence in existence, non-existence is non-existence, look at the behavior of fools. So the wise say. Therefore, the phenomenon of mere appearance must be acknowledged,
