It is said that it should be abandoned by wisdom, and it is also said below, "Therefore, one should not cling to existence, nor should one cling to non-existence." And so on. Moreover, in the noble "Ratnakuta Sutra," it is also said, "O Light-protector, to view the self as being as large as Mount Sumeru is a great fault, but for those with pride to view emptiness is not so." This contradicts many sutras. Moreover, the noble Nagarjuna also said, "The Victorious Ones have said that the view of emptiness is for the purpose of destroying all views. If one holds this view of emptiness, then you are incurable." This teaching is also contradictory. Moreover, it is also said, "Since there is nothing to be refuted, the truth is clear and unblocked." This teaching will also be harmed by the power of reason. If you think so, there is no fault. Because here, it is not merely acknowledging emptiness, but in conventional truth, everything exists, and it will be explained below, like before, it is the union of wisdom and emptiness, the meaning like an illusion. It is acknowledged when relying on the nature of phenomena that appear and are experienced, and practicing the ultimate truth. Even so, in ultimate truth, it is empty and non-existent. The meaning of the sutras is for the sake of refuting the emptiness or non-existence that is fabricated by the activity of the mind in relation to a prior entity or to the likeness of an entity, and the conceptual thoughts that fabricate there. The meaning of union, the emptiness of inherent existence, is the core meaning of all Mahayana sutras. There are many treatises that explain it in that way, but here I will not write them as sources, just know it. Therefore, even if one examines and makes it an object, saying that it is separated from all extremes of the proliferation of mind with conceptual thought, that is not the profound meaning of being separated from proliferation, because that mind makes the external appearance of fabricated meaning that can be mixed with speech as its object. Therefore, here, when measuring the nature of mind, which is free from proliferation and luminous, the meaning of the union of wisdom and emptiness, with the measure of inference, even if one arrogantly assumes to have realized the nature of mind with that pride, it is not realizing its nature as it is.

However, by cutting off the proliferation of imputations on things and so on, those with realization should seek and ascertain. If that is the case, then what will it become the object of? It will become the object to be known by the non-conceptual wisdom of the noble ones. Furthermore, if it is said that because there is no object to be refuted, therefore the non-existence of refuting it, or emptiness, is not reasonable, this should also be examined. Here, there is no object to be refuted, but the emptiness of the nature of merely the unceasing appearance as things is accepted as the dharma-nature of all dharmas. This is not unestablished, otherwise, the reason of the other party's tenet would also become unestablished. Furthermore, the refutation of things that have gone before or that are examined in dependence on them is not accepted. This is merely a designation. Therefore, some Madhyamika proponents, based on some parts of the scriptures, say: "Here, there is neither the cessation of existence nor the establishment of non-existence." And also other texts say: "For those who do not accept existence, non-existence, or both, even with diligence, no one can make any accusation." Based on the treatises spoken by teachers Nagarjuna and others, on the dharmas that merely appear as such, when examining whether they truly exist or not, what is to be refuted is what is established by reason and is not contradictory. Other than refuting the object to be refuted, nothing else is accepted to be established. Therefore, it is free from all extremes such as truly existing and not existing, and there is not even a little bit of what is manifestly desired to be established, because it is free from all acceptance. They say this. This is not reasonable, because no Madhyamika proponent would accept that things to be established and so on are truly existent in the ultimate truth. This is considered to not even exist as a mere conventional designation. If that is the case, because there is no thesis that one wants to understand, therefore the subject of the thesis that possesses the distinction of wanting to understand is not established, therefore, the first characteristic of the reason that relies on it does not even exist conventionally. Therefore, it is not reasonable to accept the reason of one's own system. If it is said that even if one does not have a thesis that one wants to establish, but one wants to refute the views of others, this exists conventionally, and its basis
