Regarding these accumulated inconsistencies, since the vessel world appears in different forms, it is explained differently from before. For example, some verses from the Dhammapada and Mahayana sutras contradict each other, and the Vidyadhara's collection of treatises, the Kalachakra, also explains it differently. Therefore, if external objects exist in the true conventional truth, then these statements are necessarily contradictory. If they are merely appearances of one's own mind, then, as previously stated, there is no fault. Therefore, someone raises the question that the Kalachakra will contradict the Dhammapada. In response, these statements do not exist as external objects, but are merely appearances of sentient beings' own minds. These statements are made with regard to a certain aspect of the appearance, so there is no fault. Furthermore, if the iron-burning ground of sentient beings' hells, etc., existed as external entities, then why wouldn't the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, who possess power and perfect compassion, destroy them and turn them into dust? Therefore, there is no need to contemplate the existence of external entities of things that should be destroyed, and there is no error in what was previously said that this is a fault of one's own mind. For example, when children are mentally disturbed by madness, they become frightened and distressed by seeing the appearance of evil and illusions manifested in front of them. If a powerful father could destroy illusions and other external things, but in fact they do not exist, and it is a fault of the child's own mind, so there is nothing that can be done. If someone objects, saying that just as parents correct the faults of a child's mind, why not turn the faults of those sentient beings' minds into dust? Isn't this the same reasoning? No, it is not. Because the causes and conditions of sentient beings' mental faults are uncertain, and the various habits and latent tendencies are limitless. Therefore, it is impossible to destroy them all at once. Therefore, the Tathagata gradually destroys them by showing various methods such as the vehicles of gods and Brahma. The vessel world is the common abode of many sentient beings, so if it exists, why not destroy it immediately? This is what is to be explained.

Yes, because that is easily destroyed. This very meaning is also clearly explained in the Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra, where it is recorded that a Bodhisattva asked the Blessed One: "If Bodhisattvas have inexhaustible resources and are compassionate, why are there poor people in the world?" The Blessed One replied: "Avalokiteśvara, this is entirely the fault of beings' own karma. For example, when hungry and thirsty pretas see the water of the ocean as dried up, that is not the fault of the ocean, but the fault of the pretas' own karmic result. Similarly, any situation where there is no fruit is not the fault of the Bodhisattvas' generosity, which is like an ocean, but the fault of beings themselves creating negative karma, like pretas." Thus it is said. In this way, refuting the existence of external objects, establishing that appearances are only mind, and elaborating on the refutation and elimination of objections to this, ultimately, it should be determined that mind itself is without inherent existence. That is to say, among other non-Buddhists, some who assert non-duality of subject and object believe that, ultimately, mind itself is of the nature of constant awareness, and that apart from that, there is no existence of external objects. As it is said: "Consciousness-only is always utterly pure, thus the Buddha is always liberated, without taking or rejecting, well proclaimed, Brahma dwells eternally without sorrow." Furthermore, the view of the Śiva school, spoken by the Great Lord: "Just as there is fire in wood, just as there is water in the earth, so in all bodies, peaceful purity dwells. All this is the peaceful lord, arising from peace, all sentient beings have peace, whatever is peace is me. Steady and bestowing, likewise a small part exists on earth, all that is the supreme lord, pervading with self and abiding greatly." And so on. The meaning of that is that the nature of the Lord, the self-knowing awareness that is non-dual, that itself is peace, is the nature of all things. This is not reasonable, because such constant appearances, as the subject of debate, do not exist in things, because it lacks the ability to produce effects sequentially and simultaneously, therefore there is no pervasive visibility.
