Then, it is not like that. Because, here, to say that something is true while it is inconsistent with appearance becomes a contradiction in itself. For example, the appearance of two moons, its meaning of being truly one means that the nature of the appearance of two is one. The meaning of the appearance of two being inconsistent with one is that its nature is not one, but different. Therefore, to say that it is true while inconsistent means that it is not its nature, which contradicts one's own words. Moreover, for conventional appearance, the phenomenon of appearing as various parts does not exist in the ultimate reality, which is not contradictory. Even so, it is contradictory to be truly one entity, so no matter which way you look at it, being one entity is negated. Moreover, if here, the phenomenon of appearance appearing as various parts is itself negated as one, but the single atom that constitutes the various parts exists, this is not negated. Just as the phenomenon of appearance appearing as fire is itself negated as fire, but another fire that produces it exists behind it is not negated. Therefore, the phenomenon of appearing as many, which is composed of such a single one, is also consistent with appearance, and it is many itself, which is also not negated, if you say so, there is no fault. Because, such a single atom, as mentioned before, has already been negated by the reductio ad absurdum arguments of the previous teachers, or, alternatively, as it is said, "Not one atom because it cannot be accumulated," one can also apply the svatantrika argument. The appearance of atoms gathering is the subject, and it is not truly one entity in accordance with appearance, because if it were true, it would be because it cannot be accumulated. The meaning of pervasion, etc., should be understood as mentioned before. Alternatively, from another perspective, the appearance as atoms is not truly one entity, because it appears as an accumulation, one should apply the argument, etc., in this way. For those who do not rely on other sounds, etc., and do not acknowledge such meanings, such appearances will also occur, just as the appearances of permanence and self, etc., occur. Therefore, here, the property of the subject is completely established by self-cognizant perception.

If the meaning of pervasiveness is that of accumulating appearances, if there is none, is it not untrue? It contradicts the reality of one. If such appearance is true, it is only the reality of accumulation that accords with appearance, as previously shown. That also contradicts oneness, for if a previously existing particle is joined and accumulated by other particles, if all of itself is joined, then it dissolves into that previous one, and it is unreasonable to obstruct the expansion of the place, therefore accumulation itself is unreasonable. If only a part of a part is joined, it will become two parts, joined and unjoined, thus contradicting oneness. If here one does not admit a single particle, because they are only many, so forming the coarse, it will become many particles without contact. No, if that is the case, then for very coarse forms, such as mountains, and for small ones such as dust motes in sunlight, is there no difference in the number of particles that form them? Or is there, it should be examined. According to the first view, the form formed by it would have no size, like a heap of grain. According to the second view, the limit of many and few is encompassed by the measure of numbers, and it must be admitted that the dust mote in sunlight has only so many fewer particles forming it. Its limit must be admitted to be one, close your eyes and think single-mindedly. Furthermore, even for very small particles, admitting that the obstruction and possession of embodied objects are infinite is merely a manifestation of coarse wisdom. Furthermore, the Vaibhashikas's acceptance of a single substance with limbs is also refuted by previous teachers through various contradictions such as movement and non-movement, so I will not elaborate here. Thus, in other aspects of the scriptures it is said: If one analyzes the parts, there is no such thing as form. If one analyzes that part, there is no such thing as a part. And so on. The pervasiveness of this reasoning is also that one and many, in the aspect encompassed by things, is the contradiction of exclusion and complete exclusion, because refuting any one depends on establishing the other. Like permanence and impermanence. Therefore, for things

Extending over one and many, the nature of counteracting such extension is that which is separate from true singularity and multiplicity. In conventional terms, it is the nature of appearing as one and many, empty of true entities, and pervaded by an unceasing appearance, like an illusion. The detailed meaning of this should be understood from the explanation of the Madhyamaka appearance, the Lamp of Suchness. The way of combining reasoning is also: whatever is the nature of being separate from one and many, that is illusion itself, like an illusory elephant and so on. The appearance of external forms such as form is also the nature of being separate from one and many. If it is a reasoning of nature or from categories, it will also become an unestablished pervasion. As stated by Acharya Kamalaśīla. If here the illusory elephant and so on are truly the nature of consciousness, then the example is not established. If so, that truth will be refuted below, but here, for the time being, the appearance of such an external object is not true from the point of view of establishing it as an external object, and such emptiness of one and many is the example. Therefore, here, others refute external objects in that way, which is to refute the ultimate truth, and in the conventional truth, just like consciousness, external objects also exist. Are forms and so on, which are capable of performing functions, manifestly established as being different from the mind? Or some say: From smoke, one knows fire; from waterfowl, one knows water; the wise Bodhisattva knows the lineage from the signs. Is it because the fire behind the mountain and so on are established by inference, as it is said? It is not reasonable, because it is the mind itself that appears in that way, defiled by the habit of dualistic perception from beginningless time, just as cities and so on appear in the state of dreams. The detailed meaning will be shown below. Furthermore, if external objects exist in conventional truth, as the Vaibhāṣika school promises, is this appearance of forms and so on the external object? Or, as the Sutra school says, the appearance as forms and so on is established by function, and becomes the aspect of the nature of consciousness.
