Etc. Appearances are non-appearances. This means that in the ultimate truth, there are no appearances of duality, etc. If we examine the appearance of sentient beings, from what cause it arises, where it appears, and what its nature is, it cannot be found. Thus, because there is no stain of dualistic appearance, the nature of mind is naturally clear, etc. The basis of all abandons. The meaning of "etc." is that those who have karmic imprints are attached to the reversed appearances that appear as objects, and nourish the thirst of beings who desire to go to various realms, leading ignorant beings to the place of samsara. "My mind," etc., shows the ultimate truth in the manner of instruction. "The object of meditation," etc., means that in this way, various beings are accomplished by various actions, and the antidote to them is the object of meditation, and the greatness of the Buddhas who teach them is inconceivable. "The future," etc., explains that things that are not substantially established are also conventional truths, and what need is there to mention that things that appear to be substantially established are also conventional truths? In this context, nirvana is merely the pacification of perversion, and therefore not substantially established. "Belonging to," etc., refers to the person who views beings and dharmas, the person who belongs to the Buddha, and the view of the non-Buddhists who cling to the self of the person, abiding in one view. Furthermore, those who are ignorant of the way of conventional mind-only discriminate about external objects, which is clinging to the self of phenomena. "In dreams," etc., contrary to this, it shows the sign of non-retrogression for the non-retrogressing bodhisattvas. Its meaning is that empowerment is the tenth bhumi of the bodhisattva, which is also called Buddha. As it is said: "The wisdom that has passed through the nine bhumis, by which one abides in the Buddha-bhumi, that is the bodhisattva-bhumi, it should be known as the tenth." Thus it is said. Furthermore, the bodhisattvas of the tenth bhumi are not the perfectly enlightened Buddhas called Buddhas. And in the Dense Array Sutra.
