As previously indicated, now the previously asked questions will be explained, and in order to make it easy to understand, the explained content will be summarized in the form of verses. Therefore, the chief of the retinue again praises with the verses previously explained and asks with meaning, that is, "Then, Bhagavan." Here, in order to show that there is an additional necessity, the questioner has generated special faith in the Tathagata, and the special characteristics of his merits are all contained in the previous content, so repeating the previous words does not constitute the fault of repetition. The sentences such as "Deluding mind like illusion" clarify the way the various consciousnesses operate and clearly reveal the meaning of the Middle Way of all dharmas. The meaning of these contents has been explained before. The meaning of the sentences such as "Always generated by habitual tendencies" is that the habitual tendencies impregnated in the Alaya consciousness generate various appearances of the acting consciousness. Habitual tendencies have also been accustomed to from beginningless time, deeply rooted, and the Alaya consciousness on which they depend also has continuity, so it has been explained. These collections of consciousnesses also wander and shake in various objects by the power of habitual tendencies, just like a magnet attracts iron. This Alaya consciousness also exists in all sentient beings, and it is the Tathagatagarbha, that is, its essence transcends thought and examination. The sentences such as "Abandoning the knower and the known" show the way these transform and attain the fruit. The meaning of the sentences such as "Appearing from the ten grounds" is that the illusion-like samadhi arising from the habituation of the wisdom of the ten grounds, and the Dharma nature of abandoning the inverted mind, should be familiar and accustomed to being free from elaboration and luminous, from which the perfect benefit of oneself and others will arise. The sentences such as "Spontaneously accomplished" indicate that the activity is spontaneously accomplished and continuously benefits others, and the meaning of all these words has mostly been explained before. The sentences such as "Away from discrimination" show the true nature of all dharmas, away from the two extremes, and for the meaning of the Middle Way, it is shown as the inversion of ordinary people.

Knowing is to mistakenly and perversely grasp the sides of truth and falsehood. Or, the habits of clinging to sides such as existence and non-existence pollute the mind-stream, causing one to cling to the two extremes of existence and non-existence. If you ask, "Didn't the Buddha himself teach about the sides of existence and non-existence?" The answer is, he spoke of "no self-nature" and so on. Teaching about the sides of existence and non-existence without relying on the distinction between the two truths is intentional and not definitive. Condition means interdependent arising. Emptiness, existence, and non-existence have already been taught before. "Omniscience" and so on refer to the meaning of the Middle Way of all phenomena. In suchness, nothing is established, so omniscience is not established in that very suchness. However, childish beings pervertedly regard the All-Knowing One as the teacher of the world, taking the names, marks, and so on of the Buddha as truly real. "This imputation is only a name" and so on teach about imputation and the nature of other-powered phenomena. "Sky flower" and so on show how perversion is reversed, and that this reversal is nirvana. "Emptiness, devoid of essence" and so on show the suchness of phenomena and the benefit of realizing it. There, the measure that grasps the mark of intellection as the mark of wisdom, free from the elaboration of measurer and measured, is the realm of the gods like the noble ones, that is, the pure gods, the field of activity of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the characteristic of perfect accomplishment, having abandoned the two, the completely imputed and the other-powered nature. There, "From which there is no consciousness whatsoever" and so on extensively show seeing suchness through the door of example, that is, in the darkness, due to the restraint of life and effort, there is no appearance of fireflies and so on, but due to intoxication, it appears in various ways. "Conditions arise from existence and non-existence" and so on show the reason for establishing no self-nature and so on. As for going to the end of the body and
