Because the qualities are endless, how can it be different from others? Furthermore, permanence is not permissible by the result. Therefore, collections and so on are not permissible. Furthermore, with "furthermore" and so on, it is not permissible to acknowledge as permanence only the unchanging nature of the Thus-Gone One, who is free from all elaborations, without denying it. The meaning of the text is to understand these. Furthermore, with "great wisdom in what way" and so on, the Dharmakaya, the self-nature of the wisdom of the Thus-Gone One, is permanent because there is no deterioration in the continuum. If it is said that it is contradictory to permanence because it is manifested by the aggregation of two causes, then it is not so. Because the two accumulations are perfected, it is only the purification of the adventitious defilements that are incompatible with it. Its self-nature is free from elaboration and clear, and whether the Thus-Gone Ones appear or not, it has been in harmony with the minds of all beings from the very beginning. Here, "those who realize" refers to their minds. The Dharma-nature is the suchness of wisdom, which is emptiness in the ultimate truth. The unchanging Dharma means that it is emptiness in the ultimate truth, but the experience and awareness are not interrupted, and it is the union of awareness and emptiness. The abiding Dharma is the name of that. To abide means to always abide in the minds of all beings. Therefore, just as the nature of the sky is free from obstructing objects, the Dharma-nature does not change in all circumstances, just as foolish beings cannot understand. With "great wisdom" and so on, the nature of the Thus-Gone One is summarized and taught. To completely separate means that they pervade and become that nature. The rest is to understand these. With "if there are two great wisdoms" and so on, it is to examine from other ways and to prevent the transformation into impermanence. In general, if one possesses two distinguishing qualities, then it is impossible for the pervaded to become permanent. Because such pervasion is not permissible, the two are separate. Although the Thus-Gone One appears as two, the reality of the two is separate from the ultimate truth. With "great wisdom distinguishes" and so on, it is inverted.

Because the conceptualization of (emptiness) is exhausted, such views will change. If the wisdom of understanding detachment is exhausted, then the inverted view will not change, because the realization of wisdom is the antidote to inverted views. The words "that" and so on, summarize and explain the essence. "Constancy and impermanence are well distinguished" means that because of the continuity of wisdom, it is constant, or because its dharma nature is unchanging, it is constant. Moreover, in relative truth, wisdom is momentary, so through these (wisdoms), one can distinguish well and be universally present. "They are not subject to the control of views" means that consciousness is not subject to the control of wrong views. The meaning of the words "constant" and so on is that whether it is constant or impermanent, accumulating the two accumulations and so on in their respective continuums will become meaningless. The meaning of the words "as long as" and so on is that as long as one admits that there are certain one-sided views in ultimate truth, one will be mixed with heretical outsiders and so on. "Do not argue" is an admonition not to doubt such profound meanings. The commentary on the 《Holy Lankavatara Sutra》, the commentary on the fifth chapter of the 《Ornament of the Tathagatagarbha》 ends here. Then, the words "again" and so on explain in detail the previously mentioned Tathagatagarbha from other aspects. First, the meaning of the question is: if sentient beings do not have some kind of constant self-nature, then what will enter samsara and be liberated from it? Because the self-nature of consciousness is momentary, when creating contaminated karma, it will be destroyed, therefore, there is nothing that will cause the body to mature in other lives, so this is unreasonable. Moreover, when creating the antidote to samsara, it will not be destroyed, therefore, it will not cause liberation from samsara in other lives and obtain the bliss of nirvana, so this is unreasonable. The meaning of the words "ordinary people abide in entering and liberation" is that when creating the antidote later, one will be liberated from samsara, therefore, sentient beings have some kind of constant self, which is the basis for abiding and liberation. "Not comprehending the cessation of suffering" means that because they abide on the side of entering samsara, ordinary people do not know the wisdom of cessation and non-arising.
