It is like that. The so-called "Great Wisdom" and so on, declares that its nature is free from elaboration. The Tathagata, in terms of ultimate truth, transcends all elaborations such as cause and effect. Beyond the four extremes is separation from them. They are the realm of the world's inverted perceptions. The so-called "merely words," if considered in terms of ultimate truth, are merely words, and apart from that, no other meaning is established. Even the words themselves are only appearances, and there is no inherent existence, as previously shown. If it is said: Are the sons of Moye and others not falling into extremes? That is the meaning of the phrase "without the object of conceptualization," and its nature, which transcends the realm of consciousness, does not fall into the four extremes. The so-called "not a valid means for the wise" is the refutation of the imputation of existence, and apart from that, it cannot be made an object by the consciousness of valid cognition, saying, "This is like that." The so-called "Great Wisdom" and so on, declares that its nature is applied to others, and its meaning is that all phenomena that appear and are experienced are empty of a self that is imputed to be ultimately real things, and emptiness is the meaning of selflessness. It is not emptiness merely in terms of the nature of appearance, for in that case, the meaning of the union of appearance and emptiness, like an illusion, is the meaning of selflessness. For example, the entities of a horse and a cow are not of the same nature as each other, but while the phenomena that appear and are experienced are established in their own essence, and the imputed self is also not of the same nature as each other, only the appearing phenomena are not established in their own essence. Therefore, the very nature of appearing phenomena is not the object of negation, as previously shown. If it is said: If so, then in the holy Prajnaparamita Sutra, "Form is empty of the essence of form," and so on, and also, "Form is characterized by being destructible and perishable, and the Tathagata has perfectly awakened to enlightenment without characteristics," and so on, are these not contradictory? There is no fault. That is also said to be empty of the true imputation of such an essence that appears as form or the characteristic of form, but not empty merely in terms of such appearance.

Self-elimination is not the case, because it is harmed by valid cognition and so on. What is meant by 'selfless entity' is an entity that is empty of an 'I' that has been investigated; it is established as an entity merely to the extent of appearance. Therefore, like 'individual children' and so on, all phenomena that appear and are experienced exist merely in the nature of appearance, and therefore, children cling to and investigate the nature of things, etc., as the nature to be negated. One should understand selflessness in this way, not that it appears to non-conceptual wisdom, and selflessness is shown by means of being devoid of the nature of appearance. Likewise, the nature of appearance on that which is grasped by conceptualization is not non-existent merely to the extent of appearance, because that is also the reason for the use of words. It is said, 'To call 'existent' is to rely on designation,' and it is said, 'The meaning that each individual should not abandon with their own wisdom is the dharma nature.' So, what is it that is devoid of what is to be negated? It is devoid of the eternal and the chief, etc., of the outsiders, the dharmas investigated by children. Likewise, all dharmas, emptiness, etc., should also be combined. Like 'understanding is enough, like that,' etc., it is clearly explained the appropriate meaning. The meaning of these is also that in suchness, it is liberated from one and different, etc., and is free from all elaboration. Merely in imputation, it is the nature of the collection of uncontaminated aggregates. 'If there are two' means if there are two truly existent things. In this regard, all things are the same in suchness, emptiness, and therefore are not different. Moreover, merely in convention, long and short, etc., are established as mutually contradictory entities, and depending on this, it is called different. Likewise, the contaminated aggregates, etc., and the Tathagata should also be observed. Moreover, if liberation and the Tathagata are different, then liberation is beyond the nature of contaminated form, and if the Tathagata is different from that, then it will become possessed of such a nature of form. Moreover, if liberation and one are the same from all self-natures, then the nature of the attainment of the fruit of the Hearers, etc., yogis will be without distinction.
