Liberation from purity. "Observing all dharmas as emptiness and abiding" means that even dharmas that have become the nature of true wisdom are observed as emptiness and practiced for a long time. Furthermore, etc., means that for external objects, even the true conventional truth, because of being accustomed to seeing it as emptiness, the connection is interrupted. Furthermore, "Great Wisdom," etc., explains that being possessed by afflictions, it connects to other different sentient beings. Attachment, etc., are in order the clinging to the three realms, and things that appear as suffering or the realm of suffering, the mind is disturbed, universally tormenting sentient beings, and the ignorance of the three realms possessed by ignorance, wrong views, and doubt. The non-virtuous actions caused by these afflictions, or the attachment that rejoices in the seeds of karma, are also enhanced by the powerful life of living beings. Similarly, due to ignorance, leaky virtuous actions, etc., should also be included. In this way, connecting with the seed-bearing Alaya consciousness, etc., will produce the connection of sentient beings, that is, the consciousness possessed by the fruit, and the manifestation of name and form, etc. If this is the case, then liberation is not possible, then "Great Wisdom," etc., is said. Using true wisdom to dispel ignorance, when the realms of attachment, aversion, etc., are realized as emptiness, then such a connection will be cut off, thereby attaining liberation. Furthermore, "Great Wisdom," etc., explains the connection from this present life to other future lives. Through the aggregation of object, faculty, and consciousness, there arises the touch that completely takes and rejects the object, and its function—union. Because of touch, the feeling that arises, and the clinging to the cause of feeling, accepting existence, thereby making the karma that achieves future birth powerful, connecting through existence in a way that achieves future birth, etc. In this way, through the three kinds of universal afflictions, uninterrupted craving becomes the connection.

Therefore, this sutra also shows that dependent origination is complete in the three times. The detailed meaning of this has been explained before. The phrases beginning with "by the consciousnesses, etc." show that these are contrary to the system. The meaning should be understood as explained before. The meaning of the verses is mostly easy to understand. "Grasping the sound of knowing things" means grasping the meaning mixed with sound, or because there is no thing other than sound, grasping it in this way is grasping the sound of the nature of the name itself. Furthermore, the phrases beginning with "Great Wisdom" explain the meaning previously explained in detail by means of refuting arguments. "Not recognizing characteristics" refers to the discriminating mind. The meaning of "The Blessed One spoke those words" etc. was spoken in the first chapter in response to the calling. Among them, the three, namely noble wisdom, etc., should be associated respectively with the Buddha's eye—the object of all dharmas, the Dharma eye—understanding the distinctions of noble individuals, and the eye of wisdom. Alternatively, wisdom and seeing are without error and without conceptualization, that is, wisdom that is free from conceptualization and without error. Because it realizes the nature of things as they are, it is also called wisdom. Furthermore, according to the Yogacarabhumi, knowing means thoroughly distinguishing. Seeing means thoroughly searching. Thus, because of thoroughly distinguishing and completely searching with the stainless noble wisdom, it is called noble knowing and seeing. Moreover, in the commentary on the Diamond Sutra, Master Vasubandhu says, "The direct perception of noble wisdom is what is called knowing and seeing. What shows only knowing is like this: by this knowing, it will be known. It also distinguishes more than seeing with the ordinary eye. What shows only seeing is like this: it will be seen by the flesh eye, etc. It also distinguishes more than subsequent inferential knowing." He said that here these are not related sequentially, because they do not agree with the text. The phrases beginning with "Great Wisdom asked" are about the Buddha's...
