Due to not understanding and doubting, in order to refute these views, their distinctions are clearly shown. Being born and decaying is, according to reason, from the perspective of permanence and momentariness, which has been elaborated in detail before. Not being born and not decaying is wisdom. If others think so, then wisdom arises from causes, and it has been explained before that it is subject to others. Similarly, can it not be established by reason? If it is said that the Dharma nature of wisdom, such as reality, is unborn and undying, so it is explained in this way. If so, then the Dharma nature of consciousness is also unborn and undying, and will it become the same? There is no fault. Here, it is from the perspective of the self-nature of the mirror-like wisdom Dharmakaya. Merely its kind has existed from beginningless time, not suddenly produced by other previously non-existent continuums, and it always has a continuum, so it will not decay. As it is said in the scriptures: It will not change into another, it eliminates permanence and annihilation, this immortal is called wisdom. Or: From the immortal and excellent wisdom, immeasurable is obtained. Another way of saying it is that because there is no clinging to characteristics such as arising and ceasing, it is explained in this way. Consciousness is not like that, because it clings to these characteristics. Falling into no-characteristic means falling into the aspect of clinging to no-characteristic. The nature of mind consciousness and so on is to become the basis of all Alaya consciousness habits, or it is the entering consciousness, which is the collection of various images of the grasper and the grasped. The nature of diminishing is that the seeds with leaks diminish and cease. Roughly understanding the differences between self-characteristics and common characteristics, etc., is the consciousness of those whose minds have not been changed by sectarian views, and understanding these differences in detail, from the nature of form being destructible and destructible, to actions arising and ceasing in an instant and being unborn in the ultimate sense, etc., thinking in a common way, what is contained by the continuums of children is the consciousness that has been changed by sectarian views. The attachment of outsiders to the aspects of existence and non-existence is the attachment to the self-nature of the permanent self of outsiders.

There is 'is,' and other than that, there is no 'is' in things like form; or, childish people think that things exist in their own nature, and do not exist in each other's things, and this wisdom with attachment is worldly. If that is so, then that will be the same as consciousness. Moreover, it is unreasonable for that to be wisdom itself, because it is said, 'In order to know that, therefore it is wisdom,' and so on. Although it is true to say that, here, consciousness also clings to the differences of external objects, or clings to non-existent things, such as rabbit horns, but it is not awareness. However, it clings to and is aware of its own conventional nature. That is also inseparable and one with the ultimate truth like an illusion, therefore, 'The self-nature of meaning is one, the self is manifest, what needs to be examined by those with measure, what other part is there that has not been seen?' As it is said, it is aware of the nature of awareness, and also aware of and manifests the suchness that is not different from it, so from that point of view it is also called worldly wisdom. Also, it cannot cut off the inverted imputation of suchness, and from the point of view of knowing the self-nature of the dharma, it is called consciousness. Regarding imputation, it is also as said, 'From seeing similar colors and dharmas, like the appearance of silver on a fish bladder, if due to the cause of confusion, saying it is connected to other qualities is like that,' and so on. Thus, from the point of view of imputation, since neither self nor other is known, it is neither knowledge nor not knowledge. However, from the point of view of knowing one's own nature, it is established as knowledge. Thus, the difference between the wisdom of the childish and the noble is established from the point of view of being able to eliminate the imputation of the meaning of experience and not being able to eliminate it. Moreover, the difference between noble hearers and bodhisattvas is from the point of view of eliminating one side or all of the imputations together with the seeds. Furthermore, it is also said that consciousness clings to the suchness of that, such as 'The dharma of consciousness clinging to objects, as it is, holds and transforms,' and so on. In the nature of self and general characteristics.
