That is to say, for the Suchness that is without appearance, it is where the wisdom that realizes the ultimate truth enters; for the distinctions of the conventional that are gathered by other-power, it is where the wisdom that realizes the conventional enters. By "the nature of being completely imputed," etc., the very nature of other-dependent ultimate truth is refuted. Regarding this, as previously explained, the nominally completely imputed, the apprehended object of thought, exists in the very consciousness that conceptually cognizes the conventional, and the other-dependent that has become the essence of consciousness is not the ultimate reality. If that were the case, it would be unreasonable to experience the essence of consciousness as the ultimate reality. Therefore, it is said: Appearances are imputed by those who err. Such appearances are the very imputations of inverted consciousness that appear in the essence of conceptual consciousness. Because they are inverted, it is advised not to impute them in that way. Just as the illusory elephant, etc., which is composed of many limbs such as mantras and medicines, does not exist in the minds of those whose senses are not impaired, so too, the various characteristics of other-dependence, when examined by valid reasoning, do not hold up. If you ask, how does that itself become other-dependent? The answer is given in the words, "Characteristics are the objects of bad migrations," etc. The characteristics of conceptualization and the habitual patterns cultivated by them bind childish beings. This arises from previous minds and is therefore other-dependent in the conventional sense. Those who do not know this posit it as an ultimately real object, which is complete imputation, because they impute the other-dependent as the ultimate reality through conceptualization. If it is said that complete imputation exists in the essence of consciousness, then it would be unreasonable for it to be without a cause, and it would become other-dependent. The answer is that it changes in terms of nomenclature, which is shown by "whatever this," etc. The first half of the verse is explained by the second half. By "conventional and," etc., it is stated that all three natures are not established as ultimately real objects. Among them, the ultimate reality is "that which is cut off, the object of the noble ones," which is the emptiness of other-dependence, devoid of the nature of complete imputation, the object of the knowledge of each individual noble one, the very nature of the ultimate reality that is completely established. What arises from causes is other-dependence. The yogi

Thus and so forth, it demonstrates the non-reality through pervasive imputation. For the reality of a yogi, it means abiding with a single-pointed mind on the ultimate truth of one's own non-dual wisdom. When abiding in this way, the nature of knowing, which appears in various forms, is beautifully adorned as the sole nature. That is, the sole nature is adorned with the appearance of various forms, and it also appears. Although it appears in this way, the nature of knowing does not have various forms, and likewise, there is no characteristic of imputation. How and so forth, it demonstrates the dependent nature as non-self-existent. How, for those whose senses are impaired by cataracts, the forms that appear as hairs and so on. When various imputations are made upon the true form in this way, those apprehended imputations are not the true form, and since they appear in this way and exist in the nature of knowing, they are not entirely non-existent in every way. Thus, the wise should understand the dependent nature as an illusion-like union. How and so forth, it demonstrates that the perfectly established reality is not reasonable. Just as gold and so on are free from adventitious stains, so too, the suchness of the mind-nature wisdom, the reality of the ultimate truth of adventitious stains, having become the nature of being both previously abiding and separate, is not true in that way. Those who impute and so on demonstrate the suchness of the two natures. Whether one imputes in this way upon the perfectly established, or another, the pervasively imputed, how, as imputed, there is no reality, while the dependent is like an illusion. Those who contradict these, those who assert and those who slander, will fall away from the good realms and liberation in other lives. Here, the scripture itself also declares that the thought at the limit of assertion and slander will be destroyed. Also, according to this scripture, if one analyzes with reason the meaning imputed on the two extremes, it will be destroyed. If and so forth, it demonstrates through another way that all kinds of imputation are non-existent, and that the ultimate truth of the dependent is a negation. Its meaning is also that the pervasively imputed of names and phenomena, and the dependent, are of one essence, and those that change in sequence are mutually cause and effect.
