I, having attained liberation myself, teach the Dharma of liberation to sentient beings; having crossed the water of endless samsara myself, I also liberate all sentient beings from it; having become fearless myself, I teach fearlessness to sentient beings; having attained complete Nirvana myself, I teach the great Nirvana to sentient beings. And the main objects of teaching are gods and humans, because they engage in the ten virtuous actions and possess the qualities of generating the supreme Bodhicitta, therefore they are called the teachers of gods and humans. As stated in the Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra. Protector means to protect from suffering. Or, the meaning of these is, having understood and become accustomed to such a nature of mind, being free from untrue views, afflictive ignorance, and also having abandoned sudden afflictive stains, realizing the ultimate wisdom of self-awareness. This is a praise to the Tathāgata. Furthermore, the body obtained by accumulating uncontaminated seeds on the Alaya consciousness through virtuous Dharmas encompassed by the six perfections such as generosity, is a general explanation of the nature of the three bodies. If it is said that the Nirmanakaya is only the appearance of those to be tamed and is not the essence of the Buddha, therefore it should not be the result of virtuous Dharmas, then, it is not so. Because the cause by which the Dharmakaya, which is the nature of wisdom, can show such an appearance to those to be tamed, arises from this, therefore it is explained in this way. Sugata, again, as stated in the Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra: Thus, happiness means generating the initial mind, because it has the hope of happiness in thinking of others. From then on, without falling back, one attains the great Nirvana, therefore it is called Sugata. Also, happiness is seeing the nature of the Buddha. From then on, without falling back, one obtains the fruit of the great Nirvana, therefore it is Sugata. Also, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are called Sugata because they have perfectly accomplished the great Nirvana. These are also the meanings of conventional truth.

Thus, in reality, it is a state free from such elaborations, as it is said. Furthermore, as stated in the Pramāṇavārttika, the meaning of abandonment and realization should also be observed here, as it is only known elsewhere. That nature is inconceivable in its transformations, therefore it can manifest various bodies and speech to tame the beings to be tamed. Thus, what appears before all beings to be tamed is the Nirmāṇakāya. The Nirmāṇakāya is further divided into the supreme Nirmāṇakāya, the skillful Nirmāṇakāya, and the birth Nirmāṇakāya, and these three differences should be known. The so-called joy of individually self-aware realization of the Dharma is the nature of the Dharmakāya of wisdom, which is free from defilements and endowed with bliss. Such a Buddha has no errors in body, no idle talk in speech, and no faults such as not entering into samādhi in mind. Therefore, he has a body of true discipline, is a Thuba (capable one), and is truly praised. The so-called time of descending to Lanka is the time suitable for descending to the city of Lanka, which is a great event for the benefit of all sentient beings. It is also the place where past Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, who are capable of manifesting various forms to tame beings to be tamed, resided and taught the Dharma. After descending in this way, what should be done? It is to request the Lord to expound the excellent Dharma here. Or someone may doubt, even if it is expounded, will it have no real meaning? No, the so-called Yakshas with many forms also listen attentively. This is because of the different forms formed by their respective karmas, or some who have attained supernatural powers can also manifest various different forms one by one. After briefly explaining in this way, explain in detail, that is, such Lanka and so on. Corresponding to the cause of Totaka, after singing, also sing with the melody of verses. These are also permitted by the Tathāgata, which are words that collect, call, and gather the meanings seen before, and then explain them. In terms of ultimate meaning, as mentioned earlier, everything is transformed into the words of the Tathāgata himself. Among them, the meaning of the words is mostly clear. The words should be arranged as follows: go with supernatural power to the place or road adorned by Nicosara. Who goes? That is, Yakshas and so on. Where is the place to go? That is, the place where the Lord resides.
