Some ask, "Are the ten bhūmis of a Bodhisattva supreme? Or not?" When asked such questions, one might counter-question, "According to what are you asking?" and then give a prophecy accordingly. Similarly, remaining silent is also a form of prophecy, such as when someone asks, "Is the thing called 'I' virtuous or non-virtuous?" Or, "Is the son of a widow white or black?" To such questions, remaining silent is a prophecy. This is as stated in the commentary on the *Holy Buddha-bhūmi Sutra*. Furthermore, one should learn more extensively from texts such as the *Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra* and the commentaries on the *Holy Prajñāpāramitā Sutras*. If not saying anything at all counts as prophecy, how is that possible? Moreover, if that is the case, then the previous statement that "one should remain silent in all circumstances" is unreasonable, since it is only a temporary silence for certain individuals. If one argues thus, there is no fault. For such questions, remaining silent itself implies that the basis is not established, and therefore no special analysis applies. Because one realizes that such a dharma is not established, silence itself becomes a prophecy. As it is said in the *Holy Vimalakīrti Sutra*, the noble Mañjuśrī asked the Licchavi Vimalakīrti, "Son of good family, we have each stated our own realizations. Please be brave and show the gateway to the non-dual dharma." The great lay disciple realized that the meaning of suchness is inexpressible in words, and in order to show it to others, he remained silent. Mañjuśrī also realized this and said, "Son of good family, excellent, excellent!" and so forth. In this way, remaining silent itself can express meaning, and therefore it does not contradict the statement that "one should not show in all circumstances, and there is no silence." Furthermore, to those who ask in a way that is argumentative, answering, "If that is the case, would your own tenets also become like that?" is also a general prophecy. What is the statement of the heretics here? It is "from existence and non-existence," and so forth. Even if one analyzes with the mind.

By means of understanding and so forth, all aspects of things desired by others are prevented. If one examines with wisdom, discriminating as it is, there is no true nature of things that is established as real, and there is no essence either. That is to say, there is also no nature of characteristics that are falsely imputed to phenomena such as non-existence. Then, again, by means of "Bodhisattva" and so forth, the path that purifies the essence of the Thus-Gone One is revealed, as well as the distinctions of individuals who abide in the temporary result. This should also be connected to the answers to questions such as "Who is bound? Who is liberated?" and "Where do the three realms reside?" The "goer" is the distinction of the individual. "Stream-enterer" is abiding in its result. The characteristic of means is the means by which those themselves are obtained, or the characteristic of the means by which the Great Vehicle is manifestly realized by relying on that. By manifestly realizing that, one also purifies the two obscurations of oneself and others, and so forth. To enjoy the "goer" as desired is to have dominion over sentient beings. Abiding in the result of stream-enterer is in terms of the noble Hearers, and it is the state of complete perfection from the continuous arising of the sixteen moments of wisdom included in the path of seeing. The fifteen moments and below are entering into that result. The sixteen moments of wisdom are also the forbearance of the knowledge of phenomena in suffering, the knowledge of phenomena in suffering, the forbearance of the subsequent knowledge in suffering, and the subsequent knowledge in suffering. In the truth of suffering, one manifestly realizes impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. The four aspects are applied in order. Similarly, the four aspects, such as the forbearance of the knowledge of phenomena in origination, are applied in order to the truth of origination: cause, origination, arising, and condition. Similarly, the four, such as the forbearance of the knowledge of phenomena in cessation, realize cessation, peace, excellence, and definite emergence in the truth of cessation.
