The meaning of what is said, such as "unborn," is considered to be the ultimate truth. Therefore, these are individually analyzed, questioned, and refuted. Among these, the words themselves are the ultimate truth, because the words express the wisdom of the noble ones, which is the truth of the ultimate truth, and the unpolluted bliss is the nature of the ultimate truth, expressed in the form of a general characteristic. Therefore, understanding in the form of a general characteristic, and familiarizing oneself with the meaning of understanding, is a part of gradually entering the reality of the ultimate truth, just as the road is a part of entering the city, but not the city itself. What is meant by expressing in the form of a general characteristic is to add to the attachment of conceptualization, clinging to appearance and conceptualization as one, thereby clinging to expressing the self-nature of the ultimate truth. What is expressed by words is also not the ultimate truth, because it is not the object of wisdom arising from the conceptualization of words. Its meaning is that the object of such wisdom is the addition that appears to be mixed with speech, while the ultimate truth is the object realized by each noble one through their own self-awareness. This meaning is also stated as: "Whatever is expressed by words, whatever is the meaning understood, that is what is expressed by words." And so on. The so-called "conceptualization" refers to the conceptualization of words. Furthermore, the self-nature of sound is birth, dwelling, and destruction, which is the nature of impermanence, so it cannot express the self-nature of the ultimate truth, because it has not been marked for it. As it is said: "Sounds are only used for marking, they are made for the sake of convention." And so on, as previously shown. Furthermore, since things arising from causes and conditions are not established as ultimately real, it is not appropriate to express the ultimate truth with that nature. Furthermore, what is said and what can be said are combined, without self-characteristics and other-characteristics, so it should not be like that either. Furthermore, the conceptualization arising from sound does not reveal the self-characteristics of external objects, therefore sound is not what expresses the ultimate truth of self-characteristics. Again, it is the nature of various sounds, sound and meaning are one.

If it becomes written words, just as saying the word "fire," because it is located near a person's mouth, the meaning of fire is also located there, therefore there would be the fault of burning the mouth. Furthermore, such a sound being located near the ear of the listener would also cause the same thing to happen. If it is considered that sound is universally present, that is also not correct, because then there would be the fault of burning all directions, and sometimes specifying burning would be unreasonable. The desire to express things as they are will be prevented below. As mentioned before, the meaning spoken by the Thus-Gone One is that the nature of these letters is unborn, etc. The Lord of Dharma himself, considering these meanings, even when arranging these letters as expressers, is able to show them in the same way. Here, it is not so absolutely certain, because that meaning cannot be expressed by other words and letters, nor is it that these words and letters cannot express other meanings, but because it is not possible to arrange them as desired by people, thereby understanding the meaning. Therefore, based on the understanding of the meaning and some needs, the ultimate meaning was spoken with these words and letters, but in reality, they are not the ultimate meaning, because this itself is hindered by the measure of what is said. "Is it emptiness?" This is a word. "The child, unseen, runs around." This is saying that words, etc., are grasped as real, and also grasped as expressing their own characteristics, and from that, such things are sought. "All things," etc., explain the meaning of the first two lines. "Does not revolve, does not pass into sorrow." This is saying that through knowing that all phenomena that can be spoken and that speak are empty, one does not abide in existence, and seeing beings as illusions, and also knowing that they are tormented by suffering, one does not abide in peace with compassion. The essence is the essence of a water tree. If that is the case, it is unreasonable to show that the aggregates, etc., have characteristics. If asked in this way, "How?" etc., was said. Then, again, with "Bhagavan," etc., the expression of the two extremes, "How?" was said.
