The so-called "declaring oneself and teaching the Dharma" means realizing it in the name itself. Or, it is to declare the profound Dharma and teach the Dharma of the scriptures. If it is said that this Dharma transcends the objects of sound and discrimination, therefore declaring and teaching are unreasonable, then, although this is the case, in order to tame the beings to be tamed, the body and speech of the teacher are manifested. Moreover, some of the beings to be tamed, through the wisdom of hearing and thinking, appear in the form of a common image, thereby truly realizing Suchness. There are also some beings who, with the sound of the Dharma teaching appearing as a condition, and from the cause of previous habituation, make their own self-realized Suchness manifest. Just as it is said in the sutra, "When this profound Dharma gate is taught, so many Bodhisattvas obtain the Dharma eye that is free from Dharma dust, stainless, and without defilement in all Dharmas." If it is said that yakshas such as protectors are particularly fond of meat and have the intention of harming sentient beings, how can they become vessels for teaching the profound Dharma? It is not so. The lords of yakshas such as protectors and Norbu Sangpo (Tibetan: ནོར་བུ་བཟང་པོ།) have in the past made offerings to the Buddhas, fully accumulated merits, attained illusory liberation, possessed the qualities of gaining victory in the three places, and are great masters of the eighth ground and so on. Therefore, in order to enable the remaining Bodhisattvas of the grounds to realize, the profound Dharma is taught to them. The reason for this is that the protector abandoned his gross body and "entered the lute headed by Indra Nila," etc., as stated by the teacher Yeshe Palsangpo (Tibetan: ཡེ་ཤེས་དཔལ་བཟང་པོ།). Furthermore, the sutra also says, "The lord of Lanka abides in the extreme place," and "has realized the attainment of the forbearance of non-arising Dharmas," from which it can be known that this is the eighth ground and so on. If this is the case, then in the past, the one called "the lover of desire and joy" was also known as the king of gods, Ramanas, who killed the king of rakshasas, the protector. This old story is well known and has been proven, which is unreasonable. There is no fault. This is because the lover of desire and joy is particularly fond of taming fierce sentient beings.

For the sake of subduing, the emanations of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who belong to the desire itself or are different from it, are like the secret lord, glorious Vajrapani, and the lord of the Yakshas, etc., who appear to the beings to be subdued in the form of fierce ones. If that is the case, then it is not appropriate to make offerings to the great worldly gods by means of invocation and accompaniment, if you think so. It is not so, because those who have attained the tenth Bhumi of Bodhisattva show themselves in the form of the Great Lord, so there is no contradiction in making offerings to them by means of invocation and accompaniment. If that is the case, then it is not appropriate to play with the goddess Uma and to recklessly enjoy the qualities of desire, if you think so. In order to subdue sentient beings, it is not contradictory to show such transformations, just as the Tathagata himself shows himself as a young man playing, etc. Furthermore, the reason for this is that in the scriptures spoken by the Great Lord, it is said: Liberation is spoken of from the absence of things, bondage is realized from things, therefore, completely abandon things, and abide in the emptiness of things. Because it speaks of profound meaning. Here, the Tirthikas such as Dīrgha Tapas, etc., arbitrarily consider the lord of Uma to be powerful, clinging to and enjoying the qualities of desire, but it is not so, just as considering the Tathagata to be the son of King Śuddhodana, the lord of the earth, etc., is the same as that which is not his nature. Furthermore, one should not trust the words of Dīrgha Tapas, because his scriptures say that in ancient times, when Rāma, who belonged to the side of Vishnu, waged war against him by means of invocation and accompaniment, the monkey kings who belonged to the side of Rāma were destroyed into pieces by the side of the Rakshasas, and were revived by the prayer of Indra, the lord of the gods, and those who spoke with weapons on the side of the Yakshas and Rakshasas died. This is not reasonable, if that is the case, then at some time, Indra himself was also captured and bound by the Rakshasas, then why didn't he kill the Rakshasas with his prayer in the first place? Therefore, his words are false. Also, desire itself is also various.
