Just as those who lack compassion and only desire their own liberation, and who are attached to the characteristics of self and generality of the aggregates, etc., also rely on encountering a Mahayana spiritual friend, or rely on any uncertain condition, and generate compassion, and realize the suchness of the two selflessnesses, and appear to have faith in such a nature. Also, those who have compassion and endure the difficult practices of benefiting sentient beings also rely on some condition and, as a result, are proven by valid cognition to experience the opposite dharma. Moreover, it is also stated in the appearance of the Madhyamaka treatises. Furthermore, although it is taught in many ways in the scriptures, it can also be determined by the power of valid cognition that it is ultimately of the same kind, because the nature of mind, which is free from elaboration and is merely the clarity of awareness, is, as previously stated, the lineage of the Buddha himself. Moreover, it is established that all sentient beings possess this. Just as attachment and other afflictions, and the conceptual thoughts of grasping and clinging, and other non-afflictive names, and faith and other virtuous dharmas arising from the mind, are not the nature of mind even conventionally, because they are only occasionally focused on. But mere experience and awareness are always established as following the mind, so conventionally they are the nature of mind, like heat. In the ultimate sense, emptiness is established by the power of reasoning as previously stated. These awareness and emptiness are also of a mutually integrated, inseparable nature. In this way, since defilements are temporary objects of perversion, the wisdom with a correct object that contradicts them, as an antidote that has become the nature of mind, when practiced and manifested, can be abandoned together with its seeds. Manifesting the nature of mind as it is after abandoning these is called the Dharmakaya. Therefore, it is established in each individual self that they possess such seeds. Similarly, the nature of all sentient beings is also merely the experience of awareness in the conventional sense, just like the difference in one's own experience.

If "this" is taken as a premise, and a name is attached to the nature of mind, then any difference, whether it be happiness or suffering, etc., can be ignored. Generally, it is only by taking the opposite of experience and awareness as a premise that the name is attached to the mind, and it is proven by the very measure of experience. Therefore, if the mind-stream of other sentient beings is the nature of mind, then it is the nature of experience and awareness. If it is not so, then there is no point in attaching it to the mind, so it is not the nature of mind. This is the action of a single measure that understands the general characteristic by relying on individually determined objects. This is also the way to prove the pervasiveness of all reasons. For example, because some of the things that are presented are named "fire," it is not by taking the difference of being clear and burning or being large, etc., as a premise that it is named "fire." However, any of these differences can be ignored. Generally, it is only by taking the opposite of being hot and burning as a premise that the name is attached to "fire," and it is proven by the very measure of experience. Likewise, by the very measure that previously entered by relying on individually determined objects, all the fires that exist in unseen places can be understood. If it is fire, then it is the nature of being hot and burning. If it is not now, then there is no point in attaching the name "fire," so it is not fire. In reality, the nature of emptiness should be understood by following the reasoning shown previously. Thus, understanding the union of wisdom and emptiness, being free from elaboration and luminous, such a state is proven to exist in all sentient beings, and therefore it is called having the Buddha-nature. As it is said in the Manjushri Emanation Sutra: "Boy Bodhisattva, there is nothing else to understand other than understanding one's own mind. Understanding one's own mind is understanding the minds of all sentient beings. One's own mind is poor, so the minds of all sentient beings are poor. The nature of one's own mind is the nature of all sentient beings. One's own mind is completely pure, so the minds of all sentient beings are completely pure," and so on. If the nature of the mind is free from defilements
