If the teachings that pervade everything are also present in Mahadeva and Brahma, then what is the special feature of the essence of the Tathagatagarbha spoken by the all-knowing one? If you say that self-luminousness pervades everything, then by what can the doubt of the non-duality of the cause of Buddhahood be eliminated, and without any doubt? Please explain the difference between them. It is read in the scriptures that all sentient beings are Tathagatagarbha, such as in the 'Arya Jnana Paramita,' etc. The Great God says: Just as there is fire in wood, And water in the earth, Likewise, in all bodies, There exists peace and purity. All this is the peaceful lord, From peace it arises. All beings have peace, That peace is myself. Steadfastly going forth in this way, Whatever little is on the earth, All of that is pervaded by the supreme lord, And exists as his own nature. The lord of mantras and the one with mind, Are called two kinds of persons. Beyond mantras and the mantras themselves, The supreme lord has two aspects. Those who desire to belong also say: My birthplace is the great Brahma, I am the one who places the son there. All phenomena arise, They arise from Barad. I abide in all phenomena, And all phenomena abide in me. Whoever knows the self in this way, Sees equality everywhere. Whoever sees me everywhere, Also sees everything from me. Whoever knows me in this way, Is not stained by karma. The Brahma speaker Bhatahari and others also say: The beginningless Brahma is eternal, The true sound is the letter. In which things arise, And is also the ultimate of the goers. In which all discriminations, Even space does not exist. Through the teachings and inferences of discriminations, It is measured in various ways. Transcending yet creating, Existence and non-existence, order and non-order. True and false, various selves, Appear from the truth. Moving within all phenomena, Edges and order Also appear. Liberation is ultimate liberation, Taught by those who desire liberation. By that single feeling, Many forms are manifested. The impure fire that causes fear, And the water of

Like water in aggregates, therefore the lineage of arrogance dwells. The changing of bright cities is like clouds possessing rain, just as they arise from the wind. It appears as the form of three. For those who speak differently, it is a supreme and complete transformation, bound by different views. Peaceful mountain king, Brahma, the ignorance that arises from him, is not like a demon. That which cannot be spoken is pure. Just as the sky is pure, a person with blurred confusion contemplates various patterns everywhere. Likewise, this nectar of Brahma, unchanging, is made like turbidity by ignorance, appearing as various forms. Lhasa (Lhasa), wind, and sky, mountains, water, and directions as well, the real parts that act within, remain as external objects. The principle is that from which oneness exists, different powers abide. Although not different from power, it arises as if different. This sound of Brahma is an emanation, dwelling from the power of sound. Although it arises only from sound, it also diminishes within them. The one who thoroughly makes a distinction, greatly dividing into many, that, from instructive discrimination, the supreme Brahma will be exhausted. Thus it is extensively spoken. The Blessed One, in the Sutra, speaks of the Tathagatagarbha, the essence of the Thus-Gone One. The Blessed One speaks of it as being naturally luminous, completely pure, and pure from the beginning, possessing the thirty-two marks, and existing within the bodies of all sentient beings. The Blessed One says it is like a precious jewel completely wrapped in a dirty cloth, similarly completely wrapped in the cloth of aggregates, elements, and sense bases, overwhelmed by desire, hatred, and ignorance, completely defiled by the impurity of complete conceptualization. If it is said to be permanent, stable, and enduring, then how is the Blessed One's speaking of the Tathagatagarbha different from the heretics' speaking of a self? Blessed One, the heretics also speak of a self as permanent, an agent, without qualities, pervasive, and not allowing for anything else. What difference is there between what the Blessed One says and what the heretics say? The heretics also speak of a self as permanent, an agent, without qualities, pervasive, and not allowing for anything else. This is permanent, one, and indestructible.
