From the non-conceptualization of distinctions, merely distinguishing by cutting off the superimpositions established by conceptualization. That is, cutting off the terms superimposed on external objects such as permanence, self, belonging to self, agent, action, doing, producing, being produced, speaking, what is spoken, etc., as it appears in the words of valid cognition: 'How much rain is superimposed, in order to eliminate that, one does not eat demons, likewise those sounds, therefore those are different places.' As it appears in the Perfection of Wisdom, if briefly stated as the meaning of the sutra that cuts off the endless inversions superimposed on internal and external objects, it is emptiness of the internal, emptiness of the external, emptiness of both internal and external, and so on. Similarly, here too, in order to dispel the clinging to the meaning of the word emptiness by those who do not understand, seven kinds of emptiness are taught to sentient beings, namely, emptiness of characteristics, emptiness of the nature of things, emptiness of existence, emptiness of non-existence, emptiness that all phenomena are inexpressible, emptiness of great emptiness of ultimate noble wisdom, emptiness of one, seven kinds. As it is said by the all-knowing one, distinguishing in order to avert afflictions from not knowing gross things. Great wisdom, what is that emptiness of characteristics? It is like this: all things are empty of their own characteristics and general characteristics. Great wisdom, because they depend on mutual aggregation and there is no difference in what is pervasive, therefore general characteristics have no function. Great wisdom, because there is no self, other, or both, therefore there is no self-nature, therefore all things are called emptiness of characteristics. Among them, self-characteristic is the self-characteristic of self, such as the self-characteristics of the great elements are hardness, wetness, warmth, movement, etc., and the general characteristic is touch. Those are: When form is analyzed into atoms, atoms have no parts. That is, when distinguishing the parts of coarse and fine directions, there is no external object when distinguishing, so.

According to this, it is reasonable for emptiness to have its own and common characteristics. When aggregates are dependent, how can there be characteristics? When aggregates are divided, just like houses, villages, and forests, emptiness is also like that, so there is no difference in thoroughly distinguishing between coarse and subtle characteristics. Because there is no difference in thorough distinction, there is no self, other, or both, so there is no characteristic existing. For internal and external things, because there is no self-nature of self, other, or both, the self-characteristic is not established in the objects of the grasped and the grasper. In the absence of the self-nature of the two graspers, the place of the name and the objects of the name are all conceptualized. These are like dreams, illusions, and appearances like cataracts, which are not born from self-nature. If self-nature is established, then it will also become a basis for refuting the objects of others. If one's own characteristics are not established, then how can one refute the characteristics of others? When what is to be known is coarse and subtle, and there are no characteristics, then the knower also has no characteristics of the refuter. The basis of characteristics and the characteristics themselves cannot be established as one or different. As it says in the Middle Way: If the signifier and the characteristic are different, then the name has no characteristic; if they are one, then the two cannot be established; if they are different, then they are not other. Just like heat and heat itself, or the qualities of heat, if they are different, then there will be the fault of fire having no heat. Permanent and impermanent, form and formless, dharma and possessor of dharma, etc., if they are other, then there will be the same fault. Therefore, all dharmas are free from self-characteristics and common characteristics, this is the intention of the all-knowing one. As it says in the words of valid cognition: There, because of the reversal of others, the reversal of others is also said, sounds and wisdom are also the same, they will follow imputation. Without combination, without difference, is the nature of ultimate truth, form is one and many, that is the delusion of wisdom. For non-duality and unspeakable things, examine the characteristics in the objects of dharma and possessor of dharma, generally expressed through superimposition. The objects of
