Furthermore, the consciousnesses included in the Ālaya-vijñāna are the transforming consciousnesses. Not comprehending the grasping of one's own mind's appearance means that the appearance of the mind is its own nature, grasping onto that, and showing that it is purer than that, and without any other aspects, that is the function of a single valid cognition, meaning that the Omniscient One contemplates that its nature is to eliminate others. Grasping is the negation of others. The bad state is the nature of confusion, and its habitual tendencies are manifestly accumulated. Consciousnesses are the transforming consciousnesses. Its nature is the cause, which is the Ālaya-vijñāna. Like dreams and so on, there is no difference, so it is established as its essence. The nature of various forms is the ability to clearly distinguish colors and shapes. In that, due to wonder, opening the eyes gives rise to consciousness. Like a stream of water, the Ālaya-vijñāna arises moment by moment, from which arise the aggregates of the senses, like waves. The Omniscient One thus illustrates, just as the eye consciousness is included, so all the subtle particles and pores of the body's senses and so on reside, and the transforming consciousnesses, either simultaneously or sequentially, appear like images in a mirror. In that, the Ālaya-vijñāna is contemplated as the image in the mirror. The complete maturation of the habitual tendencies of suffering that previously appeared as form is the consciousnesses that are included in the form of the image, and they appear separately in that. Just as the complete maturation of the habitual tendencies that were previously blown by the wind as objects raises different ocean waves, the waves of the ocean of mind, the Ālaya-vijñāna, are the aggregates of the senses, which are the cause of the Ālaya. The Ālaya-vijñāna has the nature of its function, meaning that whatever has mutual causes. That is the aggregate of the Ālaya and the transforming consciousnesses, which is the only cause, so it is said. The nature of karma is the transforming consciousness. The nature of lineage is established as the Ālaya-vijñāna. Not comprehending is the collection of the five consciousnesses, because they do not discriminate. There is no difference between cause and object

Understanding the nature is with conceptualization, not with consciousness. There are two types of causes: those that make known and those that generate, like smoke making fire known and seeds generating sprouts. 'Name' refers to the consciousness of mind. Furthermore, there are two types: the non-form aggregates and the five dharmas such as name and characteristics, meaning that the mind enters into and pervades these. Self-nature is the collection of the five consciousnesses, because it is the cause of generation. 'These' and so on, refers to although they arise interdependently, there is no dependent conceptualization; these are like the Salu Green Sprout Sutra. One's own mind is the alaya-consciousness, because it clings to this very appearance as an external object and enters together with the consciousness of mind, therefore the sense consciousness alone is not the main one. The extremely subtle habitual tendencies of the cause are like things that the sense consciousness, which necessarily enters, equally abides in, and becomes the power of understanding, that is, clinging to this very appearance as an external object, and between the state of transforming extremely subtly into entering the power of self. The alaya-consciousness flows and enters, flowing means understanding. Otherwise, like the nature of earth, etc., wisdom refers to being skilled in the wisdom of the noble ones, and the word wisdom is spoken to prevent wrong views. 'Free from elaboration' means those who have attained samadhi with appearance and without appearance. Like a dense forest, etc., refers to those who do not have the yoga of wisdom cannot see the reality of this mere aspect of the dharma free from desire. 'Those who have made the king their front' means those who have served. Or, 'whoever has made the king their front,' this is an abbreviation of the word. The very nature of the appearance of one's own mind is the object of discrimination, that is, the object. Like ocean waves, etc., refers to just as waves arising from the ocean are not different. Blue, red, salt, etc.
