the sphere of activity, and the Tathagata's own sphere of knowledge. The sphere of activity of the mind is: The mind is the alaya-consciousness, the ego-mind is the mind, and that which grasps objects is called consciousness. This means that the mind in the time of defilement and non-defilement is the order of samsara and liberation. Consciousness is also the manifestation of the two, such as eye consciousness and form, etc., and it can arise without external objects, like dreams, etc. Discriminating between gross and subtle, when what is to be known by wisdom is unattainable, then in the sphere of activity of the wisdom of the nature of unattainable yoga, it becomes non-dual yoga. The sphere of activity of the two views is the sphere of activity of constantly clinging to self and what belongs to self. The sphere of activity beyond the two views is for the sake of fully knowing the selflessness of phenomena and persons. The sphere of activity without appearance is the eighth bhumi and above. The sphere of activity beyond the son's bhumi is that the son refers to the ten bhumis of the noble chief bodhisattvas, etc., and those yogis who transcend them enter the realm of omniscient wisdom. The Tathagata's own sphere of knowledge is the two, with appearance and without appearance, as well as the non-dual samadhi, and the realm of the wisdom of omniscient wisdom. In the ultimate sense, suchness, as well as the true realm of abandonment and adoption, only the omniscient wisdom knows, and we follow after names. These are the past, future, and present Tathagatas, etc., who have great wisdom, and the nature of things is the essence of the ultimate truth, and the seventh two are established as the two, pervasive affliction and purification. With what kind of noble wisdom does one possess, one establishes the dharmas that can realize the self-characteristic and the general characteristic. The special characteristic is holding honey and water, etc. The common is the hardness of pillars and rafters, etc. The view of discriminating on the object of self is permanence, self, and discriminating on external objects.

If the self-nature of knowing through seeing is not understood, then like children of non-Buddhists, just as in dreams and so on, they merely perceive their own mind's appearances, without comprehending forms and so on. They understand these as external objects, which only exist when not asleep. They do not exist during dreams. That is to say, apart from the appearances of one's own mind, they will speak of external objects and the absence of external objects. Mahamati, furthermore, ignorance and existence, and so on, are transformed into the three realms of existence due to the cause of conceptualization. Due to inverted conceptualization, unequal ignorance, and the power of karmic maturation, one enters into the suffering of the cycle of inversion of permanence, self, and purity. How to reverse all of this is accomplished by the all-knowing one, due to the inversion of the causes of ignorance, craving, and karma. Among these, ignorance is the characteristic of untrue aggregation, that is, the inversion of taking impermanence as permanence, selflessness as self, suffering as happiness, and impurity as purity. Similarly, one clings to what appears beautiful, thus generating craving. In this way, with inverted wisdom, one craves for self, and like a moth to a flame, falls into craving. Only by fully understanding impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness can suffering be ceased. How can one fully understand the selflessness of phenomena and persons, as spoken by the all-knowing one? One should explain one's own mind's appearances as being like illusions and clouds, that is, forms and so on are merely appearances of the mind. There are no external objects, just like the nature of dreams, cataracts, illusions, clouds, and images, and so on. Among these, the example of illusion is used to prove the selflessness of phenomena. The example of clouds is used to prove impermanence, which is itself the meaning of प्रमाण (pramana, valid cognition). Mahamati, whether a monk or a Brahmin, if a path arises, or if there is manifestation of a result from a cause, the long-lasting existence of things, and the arising of aggregates, elements, and sense bases from various causes, and the idea that they arise, exist, and then perish, this is the view of Yeyeyika, and the view that superior ones produce results from nothingness.
