Who can measure it? The cessation of the nature of karma is the very sign of the present. The so-called nature of karma is the consciousness that arises from the Alaya consciousness, thus distinguishing it by reasoning. The Alaya consciousness remains constantly connected with it. It is like gold, naturally luminous, and by the power of the difference of conditions, like the appearance of defilements, separating those defilements from within. Because it is not different from the nature, therefore, due to the inner obstruction and the ignorance of not being able to abide equally, and the power of the maturation of karma, from the nature of karma, the eye consciousness and so on arise, and then they will cease. Even if they cease, the ultimate Alaya consciousness will not cease. Therefore, the nature of the great wisdom consciousness will not cease, but the nature of karma will cease. Just as gold continuously appears, the Alaya consciousness will not be completely exhausted, just as it is only the order of defilements, the arising consciousness such as the eye arises and ceases quickly, some moments last continuously, and some disappear in an instant, like water flowing and tears in the eyes. If one does not exist constantly, then at that time, one will not remember the previous experience, and it will become no different from the wisdom of the newborn. Because the thoughts of acceptance, rejection, and equanimity, and the attainment of happiness and suffering are inevitably present, the aging, destruction, and sorrowful discriminations of the newborn are observable in some realms. Therefore, for the constantly existing consciousness, there is a previous habit of having the former and the latter, so through hearing and thinking, etc., it will become the difference of wisdom. The so-called cause, etc., are the permanent and pervasive things said by the heretics, because they have not arisen, so because they do not exist, they cannot be the cause. What is that like? That is to say, the mind and attention with special characteristics, by the blessing of the senses, consciousness arises from the complete union of self and mind. The attention of the Samkhya school is sentient beings and atoms.

In times when darkness prevails, it is the master. Therefore, it is said to produce greatness. This is a classification of wisdom. The heretics universally assume that it is thus, the constant without thought, the cause of all kinds of consciousness. If the initial and final continuity possesses merit, or if there is a lack of special things of wisdom such as hearing and thinking, then even if merit manifests and gathers, it will not become special due to the constant cause. The specialty caused by previous habits will also not become famous. Therefore, it is not feasible to speak of the master, the person, the powerful one, time, and subtle particles. The master is constant and unique, and the ultimate person conjectured by non-dualists by nature and mantra holders is also not feasible. The powerful one universally conjectured as the cause by dualists and non-dualists is also not feasible, whether it is free from desire or with desire. If it is free from desire, then what is the need to make others suffer? If it is not free from desire, then because one does not know oneself, the nature of desire will become suffering, because separation from encounter will produce all suffering. What kind of powerful one is that? If the powerful one arises from the power of merit, then at that time it will become the powerful one. However, if the powerful one arises from no cause, then at that time everything will become the powerful one,

I and others are included among the doers, thread-holders, and so on. It is not the shape of sand, mountains, peaks, trees, and so on. Because of the dharma with shape, it is merely in accordance with the shape, but if the difference of kinds is distinguished, there are conformity and non-conformity. For whatever is related to its own nature and arises from it, that itself is the cause of the kind. Therefore, it should be understood that the difference between the Sugata, who speaks of continuity, and those non-Buddhists who speak of permanence and annihilation. Furthermore, Mahamati, there are seven natures of things. That is, the nature of accumulation of things, the thing of the nature of things, the thing of characteristics, the thing of the nature of the great elements, the thing of the field, the thing of cause and condition, and the thing of accomplishment, these seven. Among them, the nature of accumulation of things is, in the manner of co-emergence, ignorance and karma, which are greater than its cause. Among them, ignorance is characterized by attachment to self. Because of being confused by ignorance, for the unequal mind, for impermanence, suffering, selflessness, and ugliness, it becomes the inversion of permanence, self, happiness, and purity, such a delusion is called ignorance. From that cause arises the accumulation of aggregates characterized by suffering, which is the thing of the nature of things. The thing of characteristics is also constantly endowed with seeds. The thing of the nature of the great elements is earth and so on, appearing as the nature of hardness, moisture, warmth, and movement. The thing of the field is the formation of the world. The thing of cause and condition is any cause. The thing of accomplishment is what is accomplished from that. For the mind to rely on and connect and arise is the constant meaning, the complete affliction and the complete purification, which are known by those who have arisen with direct knowledge, who are measurers following the sound of 'I'. Mahamati, there are also seven ultimate truths, namely, the object of mind, the object of wisdom, the object of view itself, the object beyond two views, the object without appearance, and the son of the Buddhas who transcends karma.
