Upon entering, one will become weary of samsara and abide in the bliss of perfect peace. The seventh is that Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas, in every instant, enter into samadhi with clarity, seeing the characteristics of the nature of all things, because through wisdom, the place of the characteristics of things and the things of characteristics are not permissible. As it is said in the Madhyamaka: If the signified and the nature are different, then the characteristic becomes without nature. If they are one, then the two cannot be established, and if they are different, they are not other. As it is said in the Holy Mother Prajnaparamita Sutra: The characteristic of permanence is form, and the Tathagata has manifested and completely awakened to it as non-characteristic. The Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas do not enter into the samadhi of no-characteristic, why? The Bhagavan has spoken of other reasons, their entering into cessation is with manifestation, and they will fall into the nature of the grasped and the grasper. By two causes, the noble Shravakas' entering into cessation will fall into the nature of manifestation, because they will manifest attachment to the nature of external objects, and when arising from samadhi, they will grasp the characteristics of external objects. The distinction of the venerable Bodhisattva is that through wisdom, they do not see the characteristics of the grasper and the grasped, and thus, they also have no effort, although they have the samadhi of no-thought and no-appearance in every instant, they enter into the samadhi with appearance for the benefit of sentient beings. If one wonders why they do not constantly enter into the samadhi of no-appearance, therefore the Bhagavan taught: Therefore, they will attain the characteristic of all dharmas being without distinction. If one constantly abides in the samadhi of no-appearance, then by distinguishing the grounds and the paramitas, the differences in the accumulation of merit and wisdom, and the differences in the samadhi with appearance for the benefit of sentient beings will disappear, and one will become a Buddha. There are no diverse characteristics.

It is said that obtaining "the samadhi without appearance" is the samadhi without appearance. Through wisdom, one examines and does not think about or fixate on gross and subtle things. "Understanding the nature of virtue and non-virtue" refers to the samadhi with appearance, which is to fully understand what should be abandoned and what should be adopted, and to enter into samadhi through the distinctions of the higher and higher grounds. What is to be abandoned by the ten grounds is ignorance without afflictions, along with habitual tendencies, which has the nature of not abiding equally. Through examining with wisdom, one abandons the afflictions and karmic obscurations by fully understanding the selflessness of phenomena and persons. Because there is no attachment to self, the object of grasping is completely reversed. Because all objects of grasping are completely abandoned, in order to fully embrace all sentient beings with compassion, it is the perfection of generosity, the accumulation of merit. Because there is no conceptualization of duality, it is the pure morality of non-duality. Having thus obtained the non-dual samadhi, because there is no disturbance, it is patience. Because of striving in non-dual yoga, it is diligence. Because there is no conceptualization of duality, the single-pointedness of mind is meditation. Examining with wisdom, not fixating on the characteristics of the grasper and the grasped, without thought, the nature of being without appearance and non-dual is wisdom. In the seventh ground, because of understanding the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, and also because of compassion, one benefits sentient beings through the perfections of wisdom and skillful means. In the eighth ground, one realizes that dependent arising, like an illusion, does not arise or cease, and without discriminating between the agent and the action, the grasper and the grasped, being free from reality, abiding in the samadhi without appearance, one awakens all those who are to be tamed. Entering into the samadhi with appearance, focusing on all the worlds, one perfects the perfection of aspiration for the benefit of others. In the ninth ground, because of obtaining the samadhi of correctly knowing the Dharma, meaning, etymology, and eloquence, in order to know the thoughts and habitual tendencies of sentient beings, one teaches the Dharma.
