Thus viewing. What is called Nirvana, all the words of the Tirthikas who discriminate Nirvana, Nirvana. The Blessed One said: Great Wisdom, therefore listen very well, etc. Some Tirthikas think that by stopping the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, being free from attachment to objects, and seeing that permanence is incompatible with the Dharma, many minds and mental factors do not arise. Remembering past, future, and present objects is like a lamp, a seed, and wind, and because the causes are exhausted, discrimination does not occur. Therefore, they may attain Nirvana, but Great Wisdom, they do not escape from Nirvana by viewing destruction. The examples of aggregates, elements, and sense bases, etc., such as lamps, etc., are that the objects are destroyed in an instant. From knowing destruction, with what view of destruction do they think of Nirvana, for them, the reality of all beings, after the previous instant, is Nirvana itself. Therefore, there is no Nirvana by seeing destruction, this is the intention of the All-Knowing One. The Shravakas and those called monks who contemplate the Dharma all see the destruction of the aggregates. For the Mahayana, since there is no external object, and there is no object of grasping and being grasped, it is neither permanent nor impermanent. As it is said in the Holy Perfection of Wisdom, one does not always see permanence, nor is it impermanent, and it is neither happiness nor suffering, neither virtue nor non-virtue, etc., there is much extensive discussion. Others say that going to another place is liberation, such as going to liberation in the center of the sun's sphere. Some think that the wind pierces the skull and goes to a peaceful place. Wherever one goes, there is birth, and going to another place is not Nirvana, but liberation is the exhaustion of afflictions, this is the intention of the All-Knowing One. Therefore, because the mind itself is samsara, defiled by afflictions such as desire,

Furthermore, liberation from that is referred to as reaching the limit of existence. This is because some non-Buddhists proclaim liberation by destroying the things that can be observed with wisdom. Because they have not seen the things that can be observed with wisdom destroyed, what is called liberation is obtaining revulsion after knowing impermanence. This is because they do not know the method for exhausting afflictions. If it is said that because attachment to permanence and self arises the suffering of samsara, if one knows no-self, it will cease, then at that time it becomes the method of liberation, blocking the conceptual thoughts of consciousness and abiding, and not knowing how to use the methods of wisdom to make attachment return, and not knowing how to destroy it in an instant like that. Some people think that one should not enter into conceptual thoughts, and seeing permanence and impermanence, this is because they cling to the continuously existing consciousness as self, and think that permanence and self, etc., are real things, so they say that wisdom and sound and people will not distinguish, thereby blocking conceptual thoughts, and blocking the arising of merits such as wisdom, thereby distinguishing. Some people think that many conceptual thoughts about characteristics lead to the attainment of the arising of suffering, therefore those who are not skilled in the mere appearance of their own minds, because they are afraid and fearful of characteristics, therefore because they see characteristics, they want happiness, thereby becoming the mind of nirvana, which is the nature of clinging to the characteristics of consciousness, thinking that consciousness is a tumor and consciousness is a thorn, therefore they become unconscious like that. Those who are not skilled in the mere appearance of their own minds are: the appearance of body and enjoyment, the alaya arises universally, this is because they do not understand returning after observing with wisdom, so the extreme proponents of mantra holders think that the permanent self is the nirvana of the most joyful place. The omniscient one thinks, where there is a universal feeling of happiness, there is the place of another birth, how can it be nirvana? Furthermore, some people understand the self-characteristics and common characteristics of all internal and external dharmas, and the objects that have arisen in the past and future and present do not remain, thereby thinking that it is nirvana, this is because the pacifiers and those who want to belong and the proponents of Brahma, etc., universally think that things have common and special characteristics.
