The discriminations of permanence and impermanence, momentariness and non-momentariness, arising and non-arising, etc., thoroughly enter into the consciousness of duality. When one examines with wisdom and distinguishes between the gross and subtle aspects of external objects, they are not found. Therefore, the absence of thought and appearance is the ultimate truth, correctly recognizing non-duality. Although non-conceptualization arises in a momentary continuum, it cannot express its own nature, because the meaning of words does not arise there. Apart from that, the ascertainment of conventional truths is like one's own knowledge of sense consciousness. However, the inexpressible suchness is generally labeled with imputed names. Whatever exists is momentary, like the sound of cymbals and lightning, because it is momentary, being separate from the positions of the initial and final moments. How can the non-dual momentariness be realized? Even what is correctly understood by the omniscient ones, how can it be realized by those who are other than conventional truths? The continuum of momentariness that is correctly cognized by yogis themselves, because it is divided into samadhi with appearance and without appearance, it is not realized by everyone. How can the momentariness of samsaric beings appear distinctly without doubt? Because they do not have separate ascertainment of the times of dreams and non-dreams. Just as one universally perceives the moon and years etc. in dreams merely by the sound of cymbals etc., if it is the same even when one has not awakened from sleep, then how can one separately ascertain the times of momentariness etc. in samsara? When there is no separate ascertainment of the times of momentariness etc. such as short and long at that time, then how can one infer the pure non-dual continuum of momentariness? Just as wood and ashes etc., because of different natures, and because of the nature of purity and impurity, the order should not be the same either. Therefore, the ascertainment of the momentary destruction of the Sugatas is nothing but an appearance obscured by ignorance like dreams and illusions. Two

Because there is not, pure and impure, etc., if they are distinguished, like the conceptualizations of Brahma and Isvara, etc., they are not permanent and unique. Therefore, the wisdom of the Sugata is inferior to that of the Tirthikas. The Tirthikas who speak of the existence of external objects, etc., think that knowledge arises from the encounter of self, senses, mind, and object. Because there is no external object, in the **Mahayana** it is said: body and enjoyment, place appear, alaya arises universally, eight consciousnesses and nine consciousnesses are the same, like ocean waves. Just as in a dream, the power of the complete maturation of various habitual tendencies, even in the absence of an external object, only one consciousness appears separately as body, enjoyment, and place. Therefore, like what the omniscient ones do, it is not mine. Hey, Brahmin, I do not say there is a cause, nor do I say there is no cause. Furthermore, conceptualization itself is the establishment of the object of grasping and the object grasped, it shows dependent origination. For those who say there is a cause, the external object is not the cause, because it does not exist when distinguishing between coarse and subtle. Just as the Tirthikas say that knowledge arises from the encounter of self, senses, mind, and object, now the conceptualizations of the Tirthikas, mind and senses, are not those of the Buddhists, but the power of the complete maturation of habitual tendencies, various different consciousnesses appear. From that cause, there is also no action that is manifestly related to the agent and the object, it is only said that "if the former exists, then this exists". What is called conceptualization itself is generally established as an imputation on the object, showing dependent origination, it shows the consciousness of two aspects, the object of grasping and the object grasped, but not non-duality and unspeakable, because there is no object there, so there is no conceptualization. Even if one directly experiences the moment of correct knowledge that is without thought, without appearance, and non-dual, there is no name for the meaning of such a conceptualization.
