Because, like this, if one knows when to observe, because one does not observe, that is because there is no object of cognition, so there is no subject. If it is said that because there is no subject, the consciousness that is proclaimed as discrimination will not arise either, just as the noble Maitreya said: Objects and sentient beings, self and consciousness, Manifestations arise greatly, It is consciousness, it has no meaning, Because it is not, it is also not. This is abiding in the aspect of omniscient wisdom, When the object and subject are separated, When conditioned phenomena are seen, When seen in equanimity, At that time, it will not be destroyed. That is what is said. If one analyzes the gross and subtle, when distinguishing them, just like houses, villages, and forests, there is nothing, it is emptiness. Indivisible parts cannot be a collection of above and below, just like mind and mental factors. The commentary of the omniscient Dharma holder is, In the vast doctrine of no-self, The analysis I have made here, In places where the previous Nagarjuna's friends did not make commentaries, After I have made commentaries, Combining valid cognition, scriptures, and reasoning, However, after speaking well here, I have planted evil wishes. That is what is said. Those who speak of external objects claim that atoms are indivisible, If they are distinguished by differences in direction, they should not be the same. Therefore, because there is no external object to be grasped, there is also no grasping subject. If one analyzes with wisdom, When one does not observe the gross and subtle objects of knowledge, At that time, there is no thought and no appearance, Abiding in the non-duality of ultimate truth, The equality of things and non-things. Therefore, just like the consciousness of the senses that definitely enter and the correct awareness that can stop the breath, without thought and appearance, the correct awareness of the non-duality of ultimate truth does not destroy the unspeakable state. Just by the power of deafness and muteness, one can determine that the body is a sentient being. In the mind's continuum, one clings to permanence, oneness, and self. For eye consciousness and so on, one discriminates as an action, The collection of sentient beings and so on grasps all things.

Since it is not a thing, consciousness does not enter. In this regard, what the noble Mahamati said is, regarding the knowing of consciousness, if it is completely unknown, is it that the self-character and the general character are completely unknown? Is it overcome by others? Is it obscured? Is it due to distance? Is it due to being too close? Is it due to subtle objects? Is it due to not possessing the senses? Is it due to the mind being disturbed? Is it due to it being mixed in that way? The doubts refuted by the Samkhyas and others. Mahamati prayed to the All-Knowing One, understanding the self-character and the general character arises even from doubt. Regarding this, the latter aspect of the All-Knowing One is, I contemplate on that, etc. When one examines with wisdom, that which is not aimed at by consciousness as the object to be aimed at is established as mere consciousness, so it is said, but it is not merely completely unknown. Sleeping, madness, intoxication, foolishness, blindness, dumbness, childhood, stupidity, being obscured, being overcome, distance, subtlety, complete unclearness, being disturbed, and various aspects of perversion, because they are known, it is not said that they are established as mere consciousness. There, those who say that entities are different and not different, and that self-character and general character are distinct and not distinct, are mistaken, like the Naiyayikas and Vaisheshikas who think that the general character is distinct. The Samkhyas think that they are not distinct. The Ksapanakas and the logicians think that the self-character and the general character have the nature of being distinct and not distinct, and of being different and not different. The Sabdikas think that there is the consciousness of self. The Brahmavadins think that there is no duality. The Sivaites think that the world has the power of tranquility. Among those who desire belonging. The consciousness of those who speak of duality is the aspect of being disturbed towards external objects. Those who speak of non-duality attribute permanence and oneness to all the fallen of the world. The distinction of the Buddhas is that the fallen of sentient beings arise in a momentary continuum and appear.
