Pa. Thus, things are not existent. That is to say, those who discriminate with aspects such as permanence, self, and external grossness, are not for the noble ones. One should teach the Dharma that is devoid of the nature of things. From beginningless time, due to the reversed habitual tendencies, the noble ones teach the truth to the childish ones who are manifestly attached to things and non-things, and those things should eliminate the obstacles. It is not to establish the view of existence and non-existence for the childish ones, but because of the emptiness of things and non-things, teaching the Dharma of the nature of the noble ones is to reveal the inexpressible true awareness that is non-dual, as being devoid of the duality. Children are manifestly attached to things from the aspect of duality, like dreams, illusions, mirages, and reflections. For the non-dual, they are manifestly attached to those non-things, such as the absence of form in dreams, and the presence of form when not asleep. For some of those views, the noble ones reveal the pure nature, so it does not change in an instant. Saying that everything is empty is frightening. Saying that everything exists is attachment to things. Therefore, one should reveal the ultimate truth that is free from the characteristics of things and non-things. In this way, beings of great intelligence will enter. Similarly, reading from the Differentiation of the Middle and the Extremes: "Not empty, not non-empty, therefore everything should be explained. Existence, non-existence, and existence, this is the essence of the Middle Way." Among them, existence is the nature of mere consciousness. Non-existence is the meaning of external objects. Existence again, because of being free from the aspect of duality, is emptiness, which is the essence of the Middle Way of all dharmas. Although I have not revealed the nature of things, how can I reveal it since the nature of the momentary continuum of true awareness is inexpressible? That is to say, one should reveal it as the general aspect of omniscience explained in the pure worldly appearance and the samadhi that possesses it. The so-called seeing the fault of the absence of characteristics is with wisdom
