And there is no connection either. Destruction and non-destruction have no effect on the production of fruit, because the Omniscient One intends to negate action there. Only immediately after that, things are determined separately. Similarly, complete defilement and complete purification, conventional truth and ultimate truth, other-powered and perfectly established, should be combined with the two aspects of dependent arising. Therefore, gradual entry does not occur. The Omniscient One gave an example of this, saying that just as calling someone "Wise Great Lotus Born," it is not permissible for conceptualizers to relate things through gradual entry, just as it is not permissible to attribute the father to Lotus Born by saying, "This is the father of Lotus Born." That is what the Omniscient One intended. If this exists after the former, then this will exist, this is merely dependent arising. Immediately after that, in some cases, the nature of karma and result is determined separately. Similarly, the establishment of complete defilement and complete purification, in some cases, one immediately after the other, also appears as pure and impure. It is not from oneself, nor from all others, nor from both, as the Omniscient One said: there is no arising from self, other, both, existence, and non-existence. Therefore, the teacher Nagarjuna said in his praise: From seeds that are destroyed and not destroyed, sprouts do not arise. It arises like an illusion in a dream. You have spoken of all things in this way. So it is. The action of existence and non-existence does not cause the fruit of the cause to be experienced, just as the Venerable Lord Maitreya has proven, arising and ceasing are simultaneous, like the high and low of a balance. It is not from a causeless cause, nor from power, nor from nature, nor from the transference of qualities, and so on. When this exists, that will exist, and so on. When the cause exists previously, the effect will arise after it. There is no interruption by a moment. At the very moment the cause ceases, the effect arises, and there is no other dharma in destruction and arising, and so on. The first and last moment
