These manifested cities are shown only as places of dwelling, in order to place them in the great city of Nirvana, the source of jewels, so this example is shown. Among the ten unsurpassed ones mentioned, the second is: combined with showing the unsurpassed conduct of the past, the so-called overwhelming power of the Tathagata's great super-knowing wisdom, combined with the practice of Bodhi, when one delights in practice, after practicing for many kalpas, one attains perfect enlightenment, it shows that the attainment close to Mahayana Bodhi is the place of dwelling. Again, combined with the third of the ten unsurpassed ones, arising from the power of surpassing diligence, just like the example of a merchant, after experiencing various hardships, the goal is achieved, obtaining the fruit of the Tathagata is also similar to this. If this chapter shows the conduct of the Tathagata's great super-knowing wisdom, then from the name of the Bhagavan, the name of this chapter should be established, why should it be established as the manifested city and past events? This is to counteract those with excessive pride who think they have already attained Nirvana, so the example of the city is used to specifically prevent it, therefore it is shown, so it is named after inquiring about the meaning. In the sutra it says, monks, what happened in the past, from "on the other shore of the other shore", this is to explain the beginning of what is said to those of lower faculties, previously it was explained in detail with simple words, and then it is summarized with verses. Among them, first is the announcement in all directions, and then the answer to the questions asked. In the first part, there are also four types, namely time, duration, place, and kalpa, this is the first. In the sutra it says, like this, in the past at that time, until the Buddha Bhagavan, this is directly shown. In the sutra it says, monks, after the Tathagata appeared, until if all these lands were piled up, from here onwards are questions and answers, this is the question. In the sutra it says, monks, what do you think about this, until World Honored One, it is not like that, this is the answer to the question. In the sutra it says, of the World Honored One, until complete extinction

Up to "as passed away," this shows great superknowledge, that is, knowing with the eye of wisdom. Again, he contemplates and knows, and also knows in the manner of four contemplations, that is, contemplating on equality, contemplating on different times, contemplating on different meanings, and contemplating on the inclinations of sentient beings. From "Then the Blessed One" in the sutra to "Superknowledge, wisdom, overpowering, great hero," is showing the limit of time and showing knowing and seeing. Among them, the former is the door, and the latter is showing the number of kalpas, this is the first. From "At that time, he became the supreme victor" in the sutra to "So many kalpas have been exhausted," is showing the number of kalpas. From "Thus the guide passed away, long ago" in the sutra to "Mindful, subtle, and without outflows," is showing knowing and seeing. From "Bhikkhu, in this way also, overpowering with great superknowledge and wisdom" in the sutra to "became fifty-four," the meaning of the question is shown below. This is the measure of the life of the Tathagata, and the difficulty of finding the Dharma, and the manifestation of finding the Dharma, these three, this is the first. From "The Blessed One, that unsurpassed one" in the sutra to "he did not manifest the Dharma," this shows the difficulty of finding the Dharma, that is, showing to manifest it, to abide, to scatter with flowers, and to show the joy of manifestation. The commentary also shows the difficulty of attaining enlightenment, the sutras say that one will abide in the essence of enlightenment in ten ways, that is, from shaking all the earth to gathering all sentient beings, and then abiding in the essence of enlightenment. Subduing the Maras, Shakyamuni Buddha first manifested enlightenment, and later it is also said to subdue the Maras. Other sutras also say that first subdue the Maras, and then manifest enlightenment. Maitreya Buddha will touch the essence of enlightenment on the day he goes forth. Shakyamuni Buddha practiced austerities for six years, and then became the Buddha, the Blessed One, this (Buddha) for ten kalpas
