Deaf and mute. From this sentence to "deaf and mute," those who abandon this sutra will never see the Buddha, will not hear the Dharma, and their senses will decline. This is combined with the first two. In the sutra, it says: After abandoning such Bodhi, from "After abandoning such Bodhi" to "Foolish and with incomplete limbs," this indicates the decline of the senses. In the sutra, it says: Therefore, abandoning this sutra is the fruit of sin, from "Therefore, abandoning this sutra is the fruit of sin" to "Then they always dwell there," this indicates that they will suffer the pain of the four evil destinies, that is, sentient beings falling into hell, hungry ghosts, animals, and the lowly, which should be combined accordingly. In the sutra, it says: Even if they are reborn as humans, from "Even if they are reborn as humans" to "Then those are his ornaments," this indicates the maturation of the retribution of being reborn as the lowly, that is, being adorned with bad ornaments, bad support and reliance, becoming ugly, and behaving badly, which should be combined with the following. In the sutra, it says: Diseases have countless wounds on his body, from "Diseases have countless wounds on his body" to "He always likes the birthplace of animals," this indicates becoming ugly and behaving badly. In the sutra, it says: Today if I, today Shariputra, from "Today if I, today Shariputra" to "Admonish not to expound such a sutra," this is a brief explanation of the retribution of not believing in this sutra. In the sutra, it says: Like this, who is clear and learned, from "Like this, who is clear and learned" to "You should proclaim this true meaning there," these nineteen words indicate the characteristics of those who are suitable to expound, that is, those who have already generated the mind of Bodhi and are of the Tathagata lineage are suitable to expound, and those who have already generated the mind of Bodhi and have the habit of practicing the six paramitas are suitable to expound to those who appear in the following, the signs of having the Tathagata lineage are sharp senses, having wisdom to distinguish between good and evil, the nature of not being foolish, being learned, having a clear and brave mind, liking to listen to this Dharma and not seeking other listeners, this can be determined to be the Tathagata lineage, and is suitable to expound. In the sutra, it says: Who with countless Buddhas

From "Tong," up to "Therefore, you should proclaim this ultimate meaning," refers to those who have generated the mind of enlightenment and possess the imprints of the six perfections. These are those who have seen many Buddhas, performed great generosity, and cultivated roots of virtue, and should be combined with the imprints of generosity. The sutra says, "Those who possess diligence and constant loving-kindness," up to "This sutra should be manifestly spoken to them," should be combined with diligence and meditation. The sutra says, "Those who mutually respect and are endowed with reverence," up to "Speak this excellent sutra before them," should be combined with the imprints of wisdom and discipline in order. The sutra says, "Those who are always without anger and who remember," up to "Speak this supreme sutra before them," should be combined with the imprints of patience. The sutra says, "Those who teach the Dharma in the midst of retinues," up to "Therefore, you should proclaim this sutra," refers to abandoning all other teachings for the two types of people who seek this sutra and perform reverence, and teaching the seeking for the sake of merely seeking the Mahayana sutras. The sutra says, "How the Tathagata holds the Buddha lineage," up to "Speak this supreme sutra before them," reveals the summary of the characteristics of those who generate reverence for this sutra and are worthy of explaining it. The following explains the chapter of faith. In order to understand the manner of previous straightforwardness and determination, the meaning is symbolized by examples. For those with sharp faculties, such as the venerable Shariputra, and for those with intermediate faculties, such as the four venerable ones, the meaning can be understood through the same example. Therefore, in order to generate faith in the profoundness, the chapter of faith is taught. The venerable Shravakas think that they have only reached the end of the pure conduct, and are complacent that they are no different from the Mahayana practitioners. For this purpose, in order to show that they are like beggars, the example of the bee is revealed in this. Faith is the characteristic of enduring the Dharma as it is, and the mind being completely pure. The sutra says, from "Then, the venerable Subhuti" to "Became exceedingly joyful," refers to the venerable one becoming joyful in that way.

, and, the noble Tathagata repays kindness by setting an example, to this, first showing the characteristic of joy, and, showing the characteristic of respect, this is the first. "Possessing life" means that worldly people live long lives, and noble ones live by the life of wisdom, possessing both, hence the name "possessing life." Other noble ones are named after their lineage, some are named because they have been happy since childhood, and some are named after auspicious omens, which should be matched as appropriate. Previously, they understood the meaning from the analogy and heard the unsurpassed prophecy, so they were very happy. The sutra says that at that time, standing up from the seat until reporting to the Bhagavan saying this, is showing respect. This etiquette can also be divided into nine types. Standing up from the seat means surpassing the two vehicles and generating a great Bodhi mind. Tidying up the clothes means adorning oneself with the vows of a Bodhisattva. Exposing one shoulder means entering the one vehicle path and showing auspicious signs. Putting the right knee on the ground means subduing the mind that holds the two vehicles. Being single-minded means only seeking the Great Vehicle and not considering others. Joining palms means that the mind pays homage to the Buddha, expressing belief in the meaning of honesty and truth, and the three doors of body, speech, and mind are focused on joy. Looking up means wanting to understand the principles of scriptures and treatises. Reporting means showing the characteristic of faith. The sutra says, "Bhagavan, we are old," until "we will not pick up stones even if we try hard." This is the four noble ones requesting again. Previously, the request was made in prose, and later it was made in verse. Prose is also divided into three types: discussing from the perspective of Dharma, discussing from the perspective of analogy, and combining the two to discuss. That is to say, previously, they listened, thought, and meditated on this Dharma, and thus personally experienced it. That is to say, previously it was briefly explained, and later it was explained in detail. Among those who requested, some were high-ranking members of the Sangha, some were old, some thought they were only in the process of attaining Bodhi, and some did not think they were seeking unsurpassed Great Bodhi. The sutra says
