Just as those who are born suffer various kinds of pain, it is like children who do not think of escaping from a pile of fire. In the sutra, from "this house" to "come out, come back," it is a metaphor for secretly teaching the Mahayana to sentient beings, and showing the practice of the Mahayana and guiding them to enter. Before that, it is a metaphor for imputing cause, effect, and practice. In the sutra, from "that person who wants to benefit in this way" to "thinking of escaping from this house," it means that because they are attached to the five aggregates and are burned by the fire of various afflictions, it is said that they are burned by the fire of non-reason. The so-called "thinking" is like the Tathagatas abiding in the state of attaining the bliss of Nirvana, all sentient beings are also guided and placed in that state. In the sutra, from "that person knows the thoughts of those children" to "if it is not various," it is to talk about showing the metaphor of directly explaining the three vehicles, first knowing the faculties of each, and then directly showing it, this is the first step. The so-called "knowing the thoughts and faith of those children" is to know the lineage of the three vehicles, that is, to know the high and low of the faculties. The so-called "beautiful, ugly, and pleasing" is the meaning of the three vehicles. In the sutra, from "those become rare" to "run quickly," the metaphor of the three vehicles is connected with the three carts to show that first it is said to give, then the names of the three carts are said, and finally it is actually given, divided into three parts, this is the first step. Because the power and waves of action of the three vehicles are different, the metaphor is also arranged in three kinds of good and bad. The so-called "placed at the outer gate" is because all the roots of virtue in the world and the merits of concentration are entered and obtained through the gate of these three vehicles, so it is called the gate. Relying on this teaching, the fruit of Nirvana is finally obtained through the three vehicles, so it is called placing at the outer gate, that is, obtaining the fruit by relying on the cause. These three vehicles are also the same in the sense of generating and guiding, just like a cart.

I (referring to the cart) have differences in size and quantity, but in general, they are all called by the name "cart." The unconditioned has no distinctions, but in order to differentiate them in order of size from the perspective of the conditioned, the cart of the ox, the sheep, and the deer are mentioned. In the sutra, from "Then those children" to "Then quickly come out," it relies on the teachings of the Blessed One, showing the metaphor of liberation from the three realms. That is, the children are liberated from afflictions, and the metaphor of the father dwelling in bliss is that the sentient beings are placed in the three vehicles, so it means that the Blessed One is pleased. "One chasing after another, running" shows great effort and exertion. In the sutra, from "Then that person" to "Becoming fearless," the "four-way intersection" refers to: Showing the meaning of the Four Noble Truths. The noble Shravakas attain the Nirvana with remainder, liberating from afflictions, and the Bodhisattvas attain the Nirvana without remainder, liberating from the obscurations of knowledge, being without refuge and obscuration is like dwelling without a roof. In the sutra, from "Then those children" to "Please grant us," the previous metaphor showed the provisional meaning, and this metaphor shows the definitive meaning. That is, the children asked for what had already been given, the father showed giving one, the father's thought and the children's thoughts contradicted each other, divided into these four types, this is the first. Those of the Two Vehicles, although they have already attained liberation from the aggregates, have not attained the Great Nirvana, and the Bodhisattvas have not attained the omniscient wisdom, the metaphor for these two is that the children, after coming out, each asked their father for what had already been given. Or, although they have already attained the Nirvana with remainder, they took back what had been given because they had not attained the Nirvana without remainder. In the sutra, from "Then Shariputra, that person" to "Giving my children elephant carts as swift as the wind and endowed with power," the father showed giving equally to all, that is,
