It shows the Dharma and the individual. This is like the initial power of generating the mind of enlightenment, explaining the nine stages of teachings. Because it is not the ultimate, it shows that one should extremely enter into the great. The sutra says: 'Thus, one will always become pure.' Up to 'In that, the very extensive sutra collection is explained.' In between, it shows that the great Dharma is explained to the noble person. In short, all those who practice the Dharma of Bodhisattvas are called sons of the Buddha. The sons of the Buddha also possess five qualities. What are the five? They are pure intention, which is to seek only the wisdom of the Buddha of the Great Vehicle; definite listening, which is to strive for the Great Vehicle with a definite mind; sharp faculties, which is to liberate from suffering and give happiness; immeasurable, which is to serve and honor many Buddhas; and practice very profoundly, which is to diligently accumulate the accumulations of merit and wisdom. That is also the generation of the mind of enlightenment. If one possesses these ten dharmas, it is called the generation of the mind of enlightenment. What are the ten? They are serving and honoring spiritual friends; accomplishing the deeds of many Buddhas; practicing virtuous roots; seeking the supreme Dharma; the mind is not timid and is definite; enduring suffering; great compassion is especially strong; being equal with a pure mind; having faith in the Great Vehicle; and seeking the wisdom of the Buddha, these are the ten. If one possesses these qualities, one is called a son of the Buddha, and one will also teach the Great Vehicle. The sutra says: 'Thus, they perfect their intention.' Up to 'The very extensive sutra collection is well explained.' In between, the individual who possesses the five qualities will become a Buddha in the future. That is also the perfection of the intention of remembering the Buddha, and possessing the very pure discipline. There are two ways to remember the Buddha, which are remembering with the mind and speaking with words. One who possesses discipline, perfects the three trainings, will be prophesied, and will be very happy after hearing them, as it is said. The sutra says: 'Thus, among those who lead the Shravakas.' Up to 'All will become enlightened without doubt.' In between, it is to generate faith.

Urging, whether one hears or upholds this Dharma, one will abide in the Great Vehicle. The sutra says: One vehicle, not two. Until: Manifesting various vehicles. These two and a half verses indicate that there is no second vehicle, meaning there is no Pratyekabuddha vehicle. The meaning of no three vehicles is that there is no Shravaka vehicle, except for what the Buddha spoke as a means, there are no two or three vehicles in the Great Vehicle. The sutra says: For the sake of revealing the Buddha's wisdom. Until: The Small Vehicle cannot lead to Buddhahood. From here on, nineteen verses explain where one should abide. Among them, two and a half verses explain one great deed. Seventeen verses explain entering, showing, approaching, and including. The Buddha's appearance in the world is for one purpose, that is, the Buddha's vehicle is one vehicle, not two. The sutra says: Abiding in the self-born nature of the one. Until: Also placing beings in them. From here on, seventeen verses explain entering, showing, approaching, and including. The first verse explains entering. Five verses explain approaching. One verse explains including. Ten verses explain showing. Abiding means relying, that is, liberation from suffering and abiding happily in Bodhi. Adorned with strength and immeasurable meditation, all the qualities that can become accumulations of merit and wisdom are included in these two Dharmas, placing all beings in them, hence it is called entering. The sutra says: The fault of stinginess will exist in me. Until: Even one being, I am not pleased. From here on, five verses explain approaching, which can also be divided into three categories. Two and a half verses explain equality. Three and a half verses explain the difference in qualities. One verse explains approaching itself. The so-called supreme Bodhi is the ultimate meaning of the unsurpassed Great Vehicle. The Buddha's
