That is, there are also two types here. Previously, it was in accordance with all the teachings of the three times, that is, the former also has three types: past, future, and present. Each of these three also has two types: conforming to the Dharma principles taught by the Buddha's Dharma, and conforming to the results of benefiting sentient beings. This is to show that it is in accordance with the Dharma principles of the Buddhas of the past. Previously, the means were taught through many causes and conditions, in order to later attain the one vehicle of the Buddha. In the commentary, it says that the means are application, that is, contemplating the aggregates, realms, and sources of the Lesser Vehicle, and being weary of suffering, abandoning suffering, and attaining liberation, the Paramitas of the Great Vehicle, and the antidotal Dharmas of the four means of gathering, benefiting oneself and others. The so-called cause, as stated in the commentary, is as explained in the second of the six meanings mentioned earlier. The previously mentioned causes and conditions are diverse, meaning that the three vehicles are merely nominal designations, and there is no real meaning, and the real meaning is unspeakable. For example, just as a cow has milk, cheese, butter, ghee, and the essence of butter. Among them, the Lesser Vehicle is like milk. The Great Vehicle is like the essence of butter. This metaphor shows that the Great Vehicle is unsurpassed, and also shows that the Shravakas and others are in accordance with the unsurpassed Great Vehicle. Showing accordance with the Shravakas means that the Dharmakaya itself of the Buddha Bhagavan is shown to be equal and undifferentiated in the Dharmakaya for sentient beings and Pratyekabuddhas, etc. If combined with this metaphor, sentient beings are like cows, Shravakas are like milk, Pratyekabuddhas are like cheese, Bodhisattvas are like butter, great Bodhisattvas are like ghee, and the Buddha Bhagavan is like the essence of butter. Just as the essence of butter is supreme, the one vehicle of the Buddha is the same. Because from the milk of a cow to becoming the essence of butter, therefore, from sentient beings to the Buddha, although the characteristics are different, the nature is the same, and is non-dual.

In the sutra, from "Those beings" to "will attain enlightenment," it shows the similarity of the result of the deeds done by sentient beings in the past. It shows that having acted with the meaning of the two vehicles in the past, one later becomes a Buddha and attains the wisdom of all aspects. The wisdom of all aspects is the true wisdom of the Buddha. "Aspect" means knowing all aspects of the Dharma. "True" is like an elephant cart. In the sutra, from "Thus, Shariputra, in the future" to "the limit of all-knowing," it shows the similarity of the Dharma of future Buddhas. In the sutra, from "Those beings" to "will attain enlightenment," it shows the similarity of the result of sentient beings to be tamed in the future. In the sutra, from "Shariputra, in the present time" to "preaches the Dharma of all-knowing," it shows the similarity of the Dharma of the present Buddha, the Bhagavan. Meaning, benefit, and happiness are the meaning of making happiness. Happiness is giving happiness. Giving happiness by liberating from suffering, and giving wisdom and merit, and giving the results of the world and beyond the world, and giving small and great results, are applied in order. In the sutra, from "Shariputra, I also" to "all-knowing," it shows the similarity of all sentient beings in the present attaining the result. In the sutra, from "Those beings" to "will attain enlightenment," the Dharma spoken to sentient beings also starts from the one vehicle, in order to enter, show, enter, and realize the wisdom of the Tathagata. Entering is to turn heretics away from wrong views and enter the right Dharma. Realizing is to make the Shravakas realize the great enlightenment, turning away from the narrow and realizing the vast. In the commentary, entering is the meaning of unsurpassed. Showing is the meaning of commonality, if there is doubt, then practice and act. Abiding is the meaning of not knowing, causing those who have not generated the mind to generate it, and causing heretics to enter the holy meaning.
