Among these, there are two kinds of retinues mentioned: outer retinue and inner retinue. The five inner retinues have been explained above. The ten outer retinues are divided into humans and non-humans, and non-humans are further divided into gods and non-gods. Gods are also divided into desire realm gods and form realm gods. The desire realm gods are further divided into Indra, the Four Great Kings, and the three of Isvara. Among these, this is the first, divided into those who dwell on the earth and those who dwell in the sky. Those who dwell on the earth are Indra and the Four Great Kings. Indra dwells on the summit of Mount Meru and is the king of the Thirty-Three Gods. In the sutra, from "Moon Son of the Gods" to "twenty thousand retinues," these three luminous ones belong to the realm of the Four Great Kings: Sun Son of the Gods is the noble Avalokiteśvara, Moon Son of the Gods is the noble Mahāsthāmaprāpta, and the Bodhisattva of the Treasury of Space is the Bodhisattva Ratna-oḍa (Jewel Light), as explained in the sutra. The sun revolves for fifty yojanas, and the moon is the same. The stars are made of crystal, with the large inner ones revolving for eighteen kroshas, and the small inner ones revolving for four kroshas, as explained in the sutra. All of these move in the sky, revolving around the four continents, and the place of movement is from the waist of Mount Meru. The sutra says, "The great Lord of the Gods dwells together with the retinue of the Son of the Gods," which refers to the gods who dwell in the sky. The gods of Tusita and the gods of Joyful Heaven are the sons of the Isvara gods. Because the ripening of virtue is great, they take whatever they desire from the wish-fulfilling tree of the gods, from which excellent fruits arise from above, and by exercising power, they perfect the enjoyment of themselves and others. The sutra says, "The Brahma Lord of the Sahā world is with the retinue of Brahma," these are the gods of the form realm, dwelling in the order of meditative absorption, and that king of the gods benefits others, giving happiness without weariness, and practicing endurance without aversion. The sutra says, "The eight great Naga kings dwell together with many retinues," up to here, the following is the first of the five non-god retinues, namely the retinue of the Nagas. Nanda and Upananda were brothers in the past, raining with a virtuous mind and

He is the king who brings the wind in season. Furthermore, they are named according to their individual merits and powers. The sutra says that he abides together with the retinue of the four kings of non-humans (Sanskrit Devanagari: amanuṣya, Sanskrit Romanization: amanusya, Chinese literal meaning: non-human), which refers to those who possess the qualities of melodious sound. The sutra says that he abides together with the retinue of the gandharva (Sanskrit Devanagari: gandharva, Sanskrit Romanization: gandharva, Chinese literal meaning: Gandharva) race, which refers to those who wander, produce melodious sounds of dance and music, and live on fragrance. The sutra says that he abides together with the retinue of the four lords of the asuras (Sanskrit Devanagari: asura, Sanskrit Romanization: asura, Chinese literal meaning: non-heavenly beings), which refers to those who do not have the conduct of gods, but act with deceit and trickery, so they are called asuras, just as when the principles of humans are corrupted, they are called non-humans. In the treatises of the Yogacara school, it is said to be in the realm of the gods. In other treatises, it is also explained as belonging to the realm of pretas and animals. The sutra says that he abides together with the retinue of the lord of the suparṇas (Sanskrit Devanagari: suparṇa, Sanskrit Romanization: suparna, Chinese literal meaning: Garuda), which refers to the suparṇas who are born from the four modes of birth. The naga race is also born from the four modes of birth. These suparṇas eat nagas as food. The method of eating is that these suparṇas strike the ocean with their wings, and when the nagas emerge, they eat them. Those nagas who possess merit and are born into the retinue of the Tathagata are not killed by the suparṇas, but are protected by the four immeasurables. Monks, in order to be liberated from all harm, you should rely on the four immeasurables, so it is said. The sutra says that he is together with Ajatashatru (Sanskrit Devanagari: ajātaśatru, Sanskrit Romanization: ajatasatru, Chinese literal meaning: Unborn Enemy), the son of King Prasenajit (Sanskrit Devanagari: prasenajit, Sanskrit Romanization: prasenajit, Chinese literal meaning: Victorious Army), which refers to showing the retinue of the human king, and mentioning the king is because it is summarized by the main one. The origin of Ajatashatru is that before he was born, he had the intention to kill his father, so before he was born, he became his father's enemy. His killing of his father, in the treatises of the Shravakas, through confessing his sins, he merely fell into hell and was struck on the body with iron rods. Later, it is also explained that he attained the fruit of a Pratyekabuddha. In the Mahayana, it is also explained that through the confession of realizing the profound Dharma, he will not fall into hell. The details are as explained in the Mahaparinirvana Sutra. The sutra also says that at that time, the Bhagavan was surrounded by the fourfold retinue, making offerings and showing respect, etc. Here, the perfect retinue is divided into four types. The first three have already been explained. This is the fourth, the fourfold retinue includes the Maras, the Brahmas, and
