It is to show the characteristics. For example, what is the display of the faults of afflictions, that is, to display with various names such as the three leaks, the four knots, the cause of universal bondage, and the ten universal entanglements. The merit is like this: I say that there are countless differences in the benefits of pure dharmas, and whatever shows these is the nature of the fourth merit. For example, what is the display of the differences in the merits of supernatural powers, liberation, samadhi, power, fearlessness, and so on. From the sentence "The principle should be known as six kinds" below, it shows the fifth door of discipline. This also has two kinds, namely, briefly stating the number and establishing names according to the number, that is, the principle of true meaning, the principle of attainment, the principle of explanation, the principle of complete abandonment of the two extremes, the principle of inconceivability, and the principle of intention, which is the second kind of establishing names according to the number. In the Sutra of Separating the Boundaries, it says: "The realization of the true meaning, the realization of attainment, the clothing of explanation, the realization of separation from the two extremes, the realization of inconceivability, and the realization of intention." In the Sutra of Unraveling the Profound Intention, it says: "The nature of realization." Most of them are consistent with what is said in the Sutra of Separating the Boundaries. These six kinds of principles, in the Treatise on Distinguishing Explanations, are divided into two kinds of doors, namely, concise and extensive. Among them, concise refers to the fact that from this treatise itself, based on the principle, there are these six kinds in brief, that is, between the principle of true meaning and the principle of things. Among them, the first three principles are explained by the latter three principles. For example, the principle of true meaning is explained by the principle of complete abandonment of the two extremes. Abandoning the two extremes of addition and slander, as well as the two extremes of permanence and annihilation, and the two extremes of happiness and suffering, what is in accordance with the Middle Way is the true meaning. The principle of attainment is explained by the principle of inconceivability.

It is the method of explaining the way, just like this, from myself and sentient beings to all the Buddhas, and between the objects of experience, it is because it is inconceivable. By diligently accumulating causes, obtaining the result, this is showing the attainment. In the manner of intention, it is explaining the way of explaining, just like this, relying on the intention of other meanings and times, etc., it shows the intention of the arising of the teachings. Regarding the intention of other meanings, etc., such as the commentary on the "Compendium of the Great Vehicle Teachings," created by the scholar Differentiation and Non-Self-Nature, and translated during the time of Lang, as well as the "Ornament of the Sutras," the "Abhidharma-samuccaya," the "Abhidharma-samuccaya-vyākhyā," and the "Yogācārabhūmi," etc., it should be understood as taught. That which is solely the meaning, because it is the way of that itself, is called the way of solely the meaning. Similarly, because the intention itself is the way of the meaning, it is called the way of intention, up to "it is said." In that and those, whatever is the nature without reversal, that is the meaning of the way, so it is said. In that and those, because there is no reversal, whatever is the nature, that is the meaning of the way, so it is said, just like this, each from the place of its own essence, wherever there is no reversal, whatever is the nature, that is the meaning of the way. To explain this extensively, from that teaching, that which is solely that way, in short, there are six aspects, up to that which is not solely distinguished by worldly meaning. Among them, the worldly that solely is, just like this, through familiarity with language and convention, following along, with the wisdom of entering, for any object, the views of all worldly views become the same, just like this, for the earth, this is solely earth, not fire, etc., like this. In short, it is this, this is not. This is like this, not other, thus, any object, all sentient beings of the world mutually love, the name that comes from one to another, the fame that arises from one's own conceptualization, whatever is grasped without thinking, without observing, without examining, that is the worldly that solely is.
