The nature of complete manifestation, and the nature of the dharma that interrupts it, and the nature of the dharma that accords with it, and the nature of its faults, and the nature of its benefits, from this point onwards, is the second, the Blessed One answered correctly. This again is of two kinds, showing the names as numbered, and explaining them separately in order. This is the first, naming them as numbered. In the Sutra Unraveling the Limits and the Sutra Unraveling the Profound Thought, the names are slightly different from this. In the treatise Yoga Practice Ground, from the explanation, it appears in accordance with what is said in this sutra. Among them, the nature of convention is to be understood in three ways, from this point onwards, is the second, showing the explanation of the eleven natures separately in order. This again is divided into eleven kinds by showing the eleven natures themselves. This is the first showing of the nature of convention. This again is of two kinds, stating the number, and showing the explanation separately in order. This is the first. For the sake of showing the person, and for the sake of showing the nature of what is completely conceived, and for the sake of showing the actions of the dharmas, and the shaking, and the function, this is the second, showing the explanation separately in order. This is the beginning of showing convention from the three natures, therefore, in the treatise Explanation, it says: First show the self and the dharma, and then explain it for the sake of following others. This is how it appears, and in the explanation of this itself, it says: The first conventional truth is the showing of the self, the showing of the dharma, and the showing of the action. Among them, showing the self is like this: showing sentient beings, life, and those who are born, persons, men, women, spiritual friends, and protectors of the dharma, etc., whatever is shown. Showing the dharma is like this: showing form and feeling, etc., whatever is shown. If the conventional truth is not ultimately existent, then for what purpose is it shown? It is said: For the sake of others.

The word "explained" is mentioned to be in accordance with (conventional truth). Thus, it is said that conventional truth is taught in order to be in accordance with ultimate truth. Furthermore, in the teachings on the three natures, what is the characteristic of conventional truth? It is said: There are three characteristics, namely: teaching about self, teaching about dharma, and teaching about things. Among them, teaching about self is like: sentient beings, life, agent, gods, humans, men, women, and so on. Teaching about dharma is like: form, feeling, perception, formation, consciousness, and so on. Teaching about things is like: seeing, hearing, arising, ceasing, and so on. These are said to be conventional truths. Among them, the characteristic of ultimate truth should be understood as teaching the seven suchnesses. This is the second teaching on the characteristic of ultimate truth. As it is said in the verses of the commentary on the teachings: The characteristic of ultimate truth is the seven suchnesses. In the explanation of this itself, it says: Ultimate truth is the seven suchnesses. It should be understood as previously explained. For what reason are the seven suchnesses called ultimate truth? It is said: Because they are the objects of the two supreme wisdoms, namely: transcendent wisdom and subsequent worldly wisdom. Because this ultimate truth is without elaboration, it is not the object of others (ordinary beings). Furthermore, in the teachings on the three natures, it is also said that the seven suchnesses are ultimate truth, as explained in detail in that very text. The characteristic of the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment should be understood as teaching all knowable objects. This is the third teaching on the characteristic of the object of the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment. For example: the four mindfulnesses and other aspects of enlightenment.

What is the object to be aimed at by the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment? It is the very existence as previously shown, and so on. Volume Seventy. The characteristic of aspects is to be understood as teaching the eight modes of examination. From here onwards is the fourth, teaching the characteristics of the eight aspects. This also has three aspects: briefly stating the number, listing the names, and explaining them separately in order. This is the first. Among these, "aspect" refers to the aspect of knowledge. "Characteristic" is the characteristic of the nature itself. Because it is the correct explanation of the branches of the path and is the characteristic of the object of knowledge, it is called the characteristic of aspects. If so, why is the characteristic of aspects taught in relation to Suchness and so on? It is said: In this way, because after mentioning the eight objects, the examination of yoga is taught. What are the eight teachings? Because of the truth alone, because of abiding, because of faults, because of qualities, because of discipline, because of entering, because of reasoning, because of brevity, and because of extensiveness. This is the second, listing the names according to the number. Because it will be shown one by one below, it is not shown here. In the explanation of the treatises, there appear truth, establishment, faults, qualities, discipline, entering, reasoning, brevity, and extensiveness. Although each begins with examination and ends with conduct, the meaning is consistent with what is said in this sutra. Among these, truth is like this: Whatever is the Suchness of all phenomena, from here onwards is the third, showing the explanation by separating them in order. This is also divided into eight from the teaching of the characteristics of the eight examinations. This is the first, teaching the characteristic of truth alone. Like this, the fundamental wisdom directly
