By diligently cultivating the ten grounds and perfections, one attains the transformation of the path that will inevitably arise, thus demonstrating the attainment of the Dharmakaya. As stated in the "Holy Sutra Showing the Supreme Abode." In the commentary on the "Compendium of the Great Vehicle" translated by Langhavata, it is also said, "The complete cultivation of the ten grounds and ten perfections is the characteristic of attaining the transformation of the path that will inevitably arise." Moreover, the characteristic of transformation is mostly understood as stated in the chapter on characteristics, the collected treatises, the commentary on the "Compendium of the Great Vehicle" by masters Vasubandhu and Asanga, translated by Langhavata, as well as the "Ornament of the Sutras," the treatise on the three natures, the establishment of mere consciousness, and other treatises. That characteristic is also to be understood as inconceivable because of the two types of causes and conditions. And so on, this is the second, showing the inconceivability. This also has three aspects: the assertion, showing the characteristics of the two causes, and showing the fault of holding it as an error, this is the first. "Because there is no elaboration, and because there is no manifest fabrication." This is the second, showing the characteristics of the two causes, the first is no elaboration, and the second is no manifest fabrication. In the "Sutra Unraveling the Knots," it says, "Separated from the unreal, and without manifest fabrication." In the "Profound Meaning Unraveling Sutra," it says, "Separated from elaboration, and separated from all characteristics of conditioned phenomena." What is called elaboration is like this, the four elaborations such as existence and non-existence, and similarly, all elaborations such as whether everything is permanent or impermanent. What is called manifest fabrication is the nature of karma and afflictions, such as having obstacles, birth and death, and the Dharmakaya has no elaboration, and no birth and death, therefore it is called inconceivable. Here, in the commentary on the "Compendium of the Great Vehicle" by Master Asanga, regarding this

The characteristic of the transformation of the state of Dharmakaya is that it is free from all obscurations, constantly abiding in Suchness, because it is without change, and is not manifestly produced by karma and afflictions, thus it is said. Furthermore, in the Sutra Teaching the Supreme Abode, it is also said: "Because of the two aspects of cause and condition, it is inconceivable. The first is that it cannot be expressed by words, because it has completely transcended the generality of words and objects. The second is that it has transcended all worldly characteristics, because there is no equal in the world." Thus it is said, and it is also said in the Treatise on Explanation and the Commentary on the Summary of the Great Vehicle. In the Treatise on the Summary of the Great Vehicle, the Suchness itself is shown to be inconceivable by three meanings. Therefore, in that very treatise, the characteristic of inconceivability is: "Thus, the completely pure Suchness is to be known individually by oneself, and because there is no worldly analogy to be exemplified, and because it is not the domain of letters." This is what appears. In the commentary by the teacher Asanga, it says: "That which is called inconceivable is as follows: the knowledge of discrimination that arises from the mind, which is the act of thinking, and the discernment that is distinguished by examples. The Buddhas are not the object of these, so they are inconceivable, because they have completely transcended all places of discrimination and discernment. Therefore, faith should be generated, but it is not to be contemplated." Thus it is said. The reason why sentient beings are manifestly attached to speech and are accompanied by manifest actions is that the third fault of holding things wrongly is shown. Thus, sentient beings, from beginningless time, because of the lack of knowledge, are attached to the elaborations of existence and non-existence, etc., in the Dharmakaya, and the characteristics of compounded phenomena such as birth and destruction. Because of these causes and conditions, they have not attained the Dharmakaya. This is the concluding statement. O Bhagavan, is that which is the transformed state attained by the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas also to be well-spoken of as the Dharmakaya? From this point onwards is the second.
