It is like teaching that it is for the purpose of arousing and clarifying the appearance of the wisdom of the ultimate meaning, the teaching, the practice, and the fruit of the Great Vehicle. Furthermore, in the commentary on the Compendium of the Great Vehicle Teachings, translated by Lang, it says: "The Great Vehicle is called the Samadhi of Appearance, and there are three types of Great Vehicle: nature, following, and attainment. Among these, nature is the first three emptinesses of nature. Following is the ten of merit and wisdom, and the ten perfections are completely included, which are in accordance with the emptiness of nature. Attainment is the attainment of the fruit with four qualities, therefore, samadhi is called the Great Vehicle because it focuses on these three kinds of objects. By abiding in this samadhi, one will attain non-conceptual wisdom, and this wisdom clarifies the difference between Suchness and the Buddha, therefore it is called clarity. Furthermore, this samadhi destroys the opposing aspects of ignorance of great desire, therefore it is called appearance." It comes from the eighth chapter, the chapter on accomplishing the deeds of the Tathagata, in the Sutra Unraveling the Profound Meaning. Total of sixty-six volumes. Explaining this one chapter should also be divided into three ways: explaining the meaning of the name of the chapter itself, explaining the intention of teaching the chapter, and correctly explaining the meaning of the words. Among these, when explaining the meaning of the name of the chapter, there are also two meanings: among them, first, the so-called "Tathagata" indicates the master who subdues. Second, the so-called "Chapter on Accomplishing Deeds" indicates the action to be done. Among these, the so-called "Tathagata," in short, has three meanings: starting from the ultimate truth, explaining "Tathagata"; starting from practice; and starting from both the ultimate truth and practice. Among these, starting only from the ultimate truth refers to what is taught based on Suchness, as it is said in the Sutra of the Perfection of Wisdom of the Noble: "Because he does not come from anywhere and does not go anywhere, therefore he is called the Tathagata."

Thus it is said. Furthermore, in the Sutra of the Diamond Cutter of the Perfection of Wisdom, it is said: "The Thus-Gone One is the Thusness of Suchness itself. Because he neither goes anywhere nor comes from anywhere, he is called the Thus-Gone One." And in the Sutra of the Dense Array, it is said: "Because there is no birth and no cessation, he is called the Thus-Gone One." Like these and other teachings, the term "Thus-Gone One" is explained as the complete accomplishment of actions. Among these, the explanation based solely on practice is as stated in the commentary on the Ten Stages Sutra: "Suchness is called the six perfections. Because these six dharmas lead to the state of Buddhahood, he is called the Thus-Gone One." And as shown in the commentary on the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, "Because he rides the colt of Suchness and manifestly attains perfect enlightenment." If combined with this explanation, because he is the Thus-Gone One of Suchness, he is called the Thus-Gone One. This is an explanation based on self-nature. Among these, the explanation based on ultimate truth and practice is as stated in the Sutra of the Great Nirvana: "Because he goes as the Thus-Gone One riding the six perfections and the eleven emptinesses, he is called the Thus-Gone One." And as stated in the commentary on the Ten Stages Sutra: "'Thus' is the characteristic of Suchness. 'Gone' is wisdom, therefore he is called the Thus-Gone One." Among these, the six perfections are practice, and the characteristics of emptiness and Suchness are the objects to be realized. Thus, because he goes to manifest enlightenment on the cause and the object, he is called the Thus-Gone One. This is also an explanation based on the faculties. It should be understood as explained in the Extensive Explanation of the Distinctive Characteristics. The chapter on practice is the true explanation of the actions to be performed. The meaning of practice is like this: it is the ability to accomplish actions and so forth.
