Therefore, the intention of explaining the aggregates (Sanskrit: skandha) and so on leads to the various differences in vehicles. Here, I proclaim the teachings of the Great Vehicle because it is similar to the Suchness (Sanskrit: tathatā) of the same essence, and because the similarity of the path is proclaimed in the same way, so even if it is proclaimed as One Vehicle, the differences of the vehicles are not non-existent. Among them, some people generate conceptual thoughts about the meaning, thinking that the literal meaning of the words is not entirely correct, some people engage in superimposition, and some people engage in defamation, etc., which shows the mistaken clinging of the second kind of ignorant people. Here, too, there are two aspects: proclaiming superimposition and defamation, and proclaiming argumentation. This is the first case: for example, when the Thus-Gone One (Sanskrit: tathāgata) proclaims the teachings and practices of the Three Vehicles, if one hears that the meaning is grasped according to the literal meaning, thinking that these three vehicles exist, then one will certainly think that these three vehicles exist, and say that they are different in one aspect, which is called superimposition, because one does not want the meaning of not being certain of becoming a Buddha. If one hears that one vehicle can make all beings become Buddhas, and says that there is only one vehicle, this is called defamation, because the peaceful side cannot become a Buddha. Furthermore, regarding the various differences of the vehicles, if one thinks of them as inconsistent with each other, and argues with each other in that way, this is called the second kind of argumentation: for example, if one hears that the One Vehicle is proclaimed, one should know that proclaiming the Three Vehicles is a skillful means of teaching. If one hears that the Three Vehicles are proclaimed, one will certainly cling to the existence of the Three Vehicles, then it will be inconsistent with the proclamation of the One Vehicle. Although it is said that there are Three Vehicles in order to explain the meaning of difference, it is not contradictory to the proclamation of the One Vehicle, because even if these Three Vehicles are different, since they are the same in Suchness, there is no contradiction even if the Three Vehicles and the One Vehicle are proclaimed, therefore, in the previous sutra it says: Furthermore, sentient beings of the noble Hearer lineage who have true meaning also through this path and practice

For the sake of this very place, unsurpassed bliss, nirvana, will be attained. Sentient beings with the lineage of the Buddha Vehicle, and sentient beings with the lineage of the Tathagata, will also attain unsurpassed bliss, nirvana, for the sake of this very path and this very place of practice. Because there is no second possibility, departing from that ground, although it is taught that the vehicle is one, in all realms of sentient beings, there are various kinds of sentient beings, some with dull faculties, some with middling faculties, and some with sharp faculties, and these differences are not non-existent. Son of the lineage, those individuals of the Hearer lineage who proceed to one direction of peace, although the Buddhas tame them with diligence and various methods of application, they cannot be established in the essence of enlightenment, and cannot attain unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, as explained in detail in that very text. Therefore, it should be understood that speaking of one is done from the perspective of meaning and practice. This is the intention here, which is the third part, the conclusion, merely indicated by this sutra. Thus, although these three vehicles are different, if considered from the perspective of the manner of meaning, they become one manner, therefore, with this intention, it is said that the vehicle is one, and this comes from the dharmas such as the aggregates, and it is not said to be one based on words. The extensive explanation of the one vehicle should be understood as previously shown. Then, the Bhagavan, in order to teach that very meaning again, spoke these verses, and from here onwards is the second part, the brief indication by verses. This also has two aspects: the introduction and the actual teaching by the verses themselves, and this is the first. With "The lands are gathered and the perceptions are discordant, The distinctions arise, and the aspirations and trainings, Relying on this, the Buddhas teach the Great Vehicle, By meditating well on this, Buddhahood will be attained," etc., is the second, the actual teaching by verses. Here, these three verses that are spoken,
