Arising. The extensive explanation of these characteristics should be understood as explained in the "Treatise on Distinctions" and the "Yogācārabhūmi." For example, having constant discipline and having stable discipline, these two, because they do not lack training and do not destroy it, are shown as two. The two types of discipline, constantly practicing and constantly entering, because they do not abandon it with laziness, and even if destroyed, they confess, are shown as two. Learning by properly taking the basis of training is because it protects all training. Some say that the first two of the seven types are the discipline of vows. The next two are the discipline of accumulating virtuous dharmas. The next two are the discipline of benefiting sentient beings. The last one is the general collection of the previous three. The seven characteristics of its pure discipline are called the conclusion of the second chapter. From here onwards, the Bodhisattva, based on deep faith in the ripening results of his own actions, dwells in all harms and does not generate internal conflicts, this is the third chapter, showing the seven characteristics of patience. This is also of two types: explanation and conclusion. The explanation is also divided into seven from the very showing of the seven characteristics. This is the showing of the first characteristic. For example, Bodhisattvas, because they have deep faith in cause and effect, when an unfavorable situation caused by their own actions manifests, they do not generate conflict, therefore, deep faith in actions is the cause of patience. The object of harm is the object of patience. Not generating conflict is the nature of patience. This shows the first characteristic of these three, cause and condition. Furthermore, as stated in the "Yogācārabhūmi Treatise": Here, when a Bodhisattva experiences unbearable, continuous, various, and long-lasting sufferings arising from the harm done by others, he learns correctly as follows: This is the responsibility of one's own actions.

Therefore, I personally experience the suffering results of my own non-virtuous actions, and I do not desire suffering. This unbearable suffering will also become the source of suffering in the future. I have correctly taken up the Dharma that has become the source of my suffering, and if I remain in it, I will surely associate myself with whatever is unpleasant. As extensively explained in that very text. In order to respond, again scolding, reviling, beating, threatening, and inflicting various harms of exposing flaws are not done, which shows the second characteristic. Thus, Bodhisattvas practice with non-attachment, thoroughly understanding the two aspects of emptiness. Furthermore, in order to quickly accomplish patience, they do not tolerate responding, because if they were to respond, they would lose great benefits. Furthermore, in the Treatise on the Stages of Yoga Practice, it says: 'Here there is no one who scolds, no one who is scolded, no one who is angry, no one who exposes flaws, no one who is exposed to flaws, no one who beats, and no one who is beaten.' These are merely to be expressed by letters, because they are merely sounds and languages. Furthermore, for this body in which I dwell, for example, the touch of sound, the touch of hands and feet, sticks and weapons will come, and this body is a coarse material, made of the four great elements. My body is also impermanent, so those touches and harmers are also impermanent. Furthermore, all sentient beings are subject to birth, aging, sickness, and death, and they are naturally suffering. Therefore, the Blessed One said long ago: 'None of your parents, siblings, children, Khenpos, Acharyas, Lamas, and sentient beings who are like Lamas can be properly remembered.' Therefore, for that reason, the side of friends is also the side of enemies, and the enemies

The side of the enemy is also the side of the friend, therefore, for this, there is not even a single entity of friend and enemy that can be completely established. Because some friends will become enemies, and enemies will become friends. Therefore, I should have equanimity towards all sentient beings, have equal views, have a mind of benefit, have a mind of happiness, strive to accomplish happiness, strive to accomplish happiness, I should think like this. Like this, one should cultivate the patience of meditation. The so-called "not making thoughts of resentment" refers to showing three characteristics. If one understands the benefits of patience, then one will definitely not cling to resentment. Therefore, it is said in the treatise *Yogacarabhumi*, when others cause harm, one does not cause harm in return, nor does one become upset, nor does one harbor enmity, but like before, one strives to benefit others. The so-called "when blamed with reproaches, not completely afflicted" refers to showing the fourth characteristic. When enemies come to blame with reproaches, one accepts repentance and does not generate affliction. Therefore, it is said in the treatise *Yogacarabhumi*, after making the other completely exhausted, one does not accept blame, but because one is worried that the other will become completely weary and exhausted, one accepts blame as soon as the other comes. It is said in the *Samdhinirmocana Sutra*: If one requests repentance, one accepts it in due time, without causing harm to others. The so-called "abiding by blaming with reproaches" refers to showing the fifth characteristic. The Bodhisattva, because he is worried that the enemy will cause harm to the Bodhisattva himself, the Bodhisattva himself quickly goes to that enemy and repents, rather than waiting for the other to come and then repenting. It is also said in the treatise *Yogacarabhumi*: For those who harbor resentment, one goes oneself and repents. It is said in the *Pratimoksha Sutra*: If others cause harm, one does not forget to blame. Fear and confusion
