Because it is established only as consciousness, how to lead, and completely hold purity, and coarse and subtle, easy and difficult. Or easy and difficult show the above coarse and subtle. Therefore, the order of that treatise itself is like this: the former leads the latter, the latter makes the former pure, the former is coarse, the latter is subtle, easy to practice and difficult, like this shows the order. Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara again reported to the Blessed One like this: Blessed One, how many kinds of differences are there for each of the six perfections? From this onwards, it shows the door of showing the differences of the perfections. This is also shown by asking and answering. This is the first question about the differences of the six perfections. The Blessed One said to Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara: Son of good family, each one has three kinds of differences, etc., this shows the second Tathagata's correct answer. This also has two kinds, briefly showing six times three equals eighteen kinds of differences, and showing that each of the six perfections has three kinds of differences according to the order. This is the first, because in the re-showing of these differences, the explanations are inconsistent, so this sutra itself, as well as the Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra, the profound secret liberation sutra, the treatise Compendium of the Mahāyāna, the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra, starting from the previous six perfections, each one has only three kinds of differences, there is no separate explanation. In the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra, the Bodhisattva-bhūmi, and the commentary on the Compendium of the Mahāyāna made by Master Vasubandhu and Asaṅga, the translation of the Compendium of the Mahāyāna during the time of Laṅka and the Abhidharmasamuccaya, each of the six perfections is also divided into three kinds.
