Therefore, it is called means because it cultivates virtue with the wisdom that focuses on the realm of Dharma, and diligently eliminates afflictions in order to clarify the Dharmakaya. That is to say, the means that focuses on Suchness, and with wisdom, very well tames afflictions, and from composing the six perfections, the Dharmakaya is manifestly accomplished, and from the Dharmakaya, the light of wisdom arises, and the image of the emanation body is shown. If with the wisdom that sees the person as emptiness, from the body of liberation, great light cannot be emitted, and the image of the emanation body cannot be shown, as it will be taught. In the Sutra of Differentiating the Boundaries of Liberation, it says that from the body of liberation, there is no such thing. In the Sutra of Profound Meaning of Liberation, it says that from the body of liberation, such a thing does not arise. Bodhisattva Manjushri said to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, Bhagavan said, by the power of the blessing of the Tathagata and the Bodhisattva, all the perfect human bodies of sentient beings in the desire realm, such as the royal caste and the Brahmin caste, and those like the great Sala tree, and the gods of the desire realm, and the perfect bodies of the gods of the form and formless realms all appear. Bhagavan, is there such an intention? The Bodhisattva shows the complete possession of the body of sentient beings by the power of the blessing of the Bodhisattva, and by the power of the blessing of the Bodhisattva. This also shows the asking and answering, this is the asking. The intention of the asking is that the Tathagata taught the path of the ten virtuous actions and the practice of the three vehicles, etc., those who practice according to what is taught, their body and enjoyment become perfect, and those who act contrary to the teachings, their body completely decays, although they have the share of attainment, they also have the share of decay, according to the reason of the holy words, only one aspect of having the attainment of a perfect body is taught, but the matter of decay is not mentioned.

It is asking what the intention is. Another way of saying it is, how many sentient beings obtain a perfect body due to their own karma? In the sutras, it is said that the Tathagata and Bodhisattvas, through the power of their blessings, cause sentient beings to obtain a perfect body. Therefore, (I) asked because I did not understand what the intention was. The Bhagavan said to the Bodhisattva Manjushri: 'Son of good family, the Tathagata and Bodhisattvas, through the power of their blessings, by what path and practice do all sentient beings obtain a perfect body? To them, they correctly and truly show that path and practice.' And so on. This shows that the Tathagata correctly answered these two questions. This also has two aspects: explanation and conclusion. Explanation also has two aspects: stating the teaching of the intention, and from 'whoever' onwards, by stating what contradicts the subsequent accomplishment of the teaching, thereby correctly clarifying the intention, this is the first way. Thus, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, through the blessings of great compassion, have proclaimed the path of the ten virtuous actions and the practices of the three vehicles, therefore, sentient beings of the three realms are able to obtain a perfect body, and they have also shown them that path and practice, but because there is nothing that contradicts the teaching, therefore, it is understood and spoken in a hidden way, this is the obvious conclusion. Whoever correctly and truly practices that path and practice will obtain a perfect body, and so on. This shows that the second way is to correctly clarify the intention by stating the subsequent accomplishment and contradiction of the teaching. This also has two aspects: stating the benefits of following the teaching, and stating the faults of contradicting the teaching. This is the first, which is expressed only by this sutra itself. Which sentient beings abandon for that path and practice, speak unpleasant words, and also have a general mind of annoyance and a mind of anger towards me.

Those who, from arising until the time of death, perform actions will invariably obtain an inferior body, which indicates the fault of contradicting the second teaching. Any sentient beings who turn their backs on the path of the ten virtuous actions, speak unfavorably of the practices of the three vehicles, generate a mind of extreme torment towards the Buddha like Devadatta, and generate a mind of anger towards the Buddha like Angulimala, will obtain an imperfect body in all their lifetimes. Manjushri, therefore, the Tathagatas and Bodhisattvas do not only make bodies perfect through the power of their blessings, but it should also be understood that the power of the blessings of the Tathagatas and Bodhisattvas can also make the bodies of sentient beings inferior. This is the second part, the conclusion, which is also a conclusion that shows the benefits of conforming practices and the faults of opposing practices, which the sutra itself has already clearly expressed. The Bodhisattva Manjushri again asked the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, in a pure land, what things are abundant? What things are rare?" From here onwards is the seventh part, which explains what is difficult to obtain and what are the characteristics of abundance in pure and impure lands. This part also includes the asking and answering, which is the initial simultaneous inquiry into what things are rare and abundant in pure and impure lands. The Bhagavan said to the Bodhisattva Manjushri: "Son of good family, in a pure land, eight things are abundant, and two things are rare." From here onwards is the second part, where the Tathagata correctly answers. This part is also divided into two: explaining the things of impure lands and explaining the things of pure lands. Explaining the things of impure lands is also divided into two: first, briefly stating the number, and then explaining in detail. This is the brief answer. What are the eight abundant things? From here onwards is the second part, explaining in detail.
