Even if one has completely accomplished the undefiled Dharma of the noble ones, one will take birth in the realms of evil destinies. The Blessed One said: "Rabjor, what do you think? Is the emanation of birth in evil destinies by the Thus-Gone One truly an evil destiny, and will one experience those sufferings?" Rabjor replied: "No, O Sugata. Although the Thus-Gone One shows a body born in evil destinies, it is not truly a birth in evil destinies, and one will not experience those sufferings." The Blessed One said to Rabjor: "Bodhisattvas, great beings, are also like that. Even though they have completely accomplished all pure, undefiled Dharmas, in order to fully ripen sentient beings, they will skillfully take a body in evil destinies. Even by truly taking that body, they will appropriately ripen sentient beings." Furthermore, it is said in that very text that Bodhisattvas show taking various kinds of bodies in evil destinies, and even though they truly take those bodies, they are not truly those bodies, nor are they stained by those faults, as extensively explained in that very text. Bodhisattvas, great beings, are also like that, it is said, and furthermore, it is said that they are not truly those bodies, therefore it should be understood that they are emanations and not true bodies. If they are emanation bodies, then are those Thus-Gone Ones the same? Why is it taught that at the time of Buddhahood, there is only pure birth? Answer: Even though there is no difference from the Thus-Gone One in those three evil destinies, Bodhisattvas also truly take birth in the realms of gods and humans. Therefore, it is taught that at the time of Buddhahood, there is only pure birth. Thus, among the five types of birth, the first two are the same as the Thus-Gone One, and the latter three are different from the Thus-Gone One. The term 'power' refers to power and strength.

As stated in the chapter on power within it. Therefore, in that very treatise, it says: The power of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, in summary, is of three types. Among them, the power of the noble ones is as follows: Those Bodhisattvas who have attained mastery over Samadhi, relying on Samadhi, accomplish all things merely by their intention, because the mind is capable of it, and because the mind has been very well cultivated, it is called the power of the noble ones. The power of Dharma is as follows: Whatever is the great fruit and great benefit of the Dharmas, that is called the power of Dharma. Here, what is called Dharma is the six Paramitas, that is, from generosity to the Paramita of wisdom. Whatever power those Dharmas have, those are called the power of Dharma. Among them, the innate power is as follows: The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, from the great accumulation of merit previously accumulated, whatever wonderful and marvelous Dharmas arise innately, those should be known as the innate power. Furthermore, the power of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas can also be transformed into five types by the distinction of categories, namely, the power of clairvoyance, the power of Dharma, the innate power, the power that is common to the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and the power that is not common. Among them, the six clairvoyances, namely, the realm of miraculous powers, the divine ear, the enumeration of minds, the recollection of past lives, the passing away and birth, the seeing of death and birth, and the direct realization of the knowledge of the exhaustion of defilements, are called the power of clairvoyance. Whatever power there is from the Paramita of generosity to the Paramita of wisdom, that is called the power of Dharma. The innate power is as follows: Naturally remembering past lives, and for the benefit of sentient beings, even without discrimination, enduring various kinds of unbearable long-term sufferings without interruption, and not minding them, and so on. Among them, the common and the uncommon should be known in summary as three types, namely, the subtle part and

Aspects and realms. Here, how the Tathagata or Bodhisattva benefits immeasurable and countless beings through immeasurable and countless means of magical power, knowing it as it is, is called a subtle division. Possessing all aspects such as magical power, Dharma power, and innate magical power is called an aspect. All world realms and all sentient being realms that become the object of their magical power are called realms. The realm of the Shravaka's supernormal cognition is the two-thousand world realm and the sentient being realm. The realm of the Pratyekabuddha's supernormal cognition is the entire three-thousand great thousand world realm. Why is that? Because they enter for the sake of taming themselves alone, not for the sake of all sentient beings, therefore their realm of magical power is limited to a single world realm. Apart from these aspects, the magical power of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, which is different from that of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, should be understood. Therefore, it is said that Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are not equal to the supernormal cognition of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, but are the same as all different beings such as gods, humans, and non-Buddhists. In the chapter on supernormal cognition in the Sutra of Good Precepts and in the chapter on magical power in the treatise Earth Store Sutra, they mostly correspond to what is taught in the Yogacarabhumi-sastra. As mentioned above, because they possess such magical power, it is called the purification of magical power. Son of lineage, from the purification of higher aspiration on the first ground to the purification of magical power, and from the higher grounds up to the Buddha ground, from the purification of higher aspiration to the purification of magical power, all those purifications should be known to be increasingly superior, except for the purification of birth on the Buddha ground. From this point onwards, it is not superior starting from the third, etc.
