And extensively explained "placement" and so on. The realm of the Tathagata is like this: In all circumstances, whatever the five realms are transformed into, etc., this is the second detailed explanation of the realm of the Tathagata's activity. This also has two aspects: briefly indicating the number, and dividing and indicating it as the number briefly stated. This is a brief indication of the number. What are the five? The realm of sentient beings, the realm of the world, the realm of Dharma, the realm of those to be tamed, and the realm of the means of taming. This is the second, dividing and indicating it as the number briefly stated. These five immeasurables should be understood as stated in the Treatise on the Stages of Yoga Practice. Therefore, in that treatise it says: Among them, the immeasurable realm of sentient beings is like this: that is, the sixty-four types of sentient beings, as previously stated in the "Ground of Mind." The immeasurable realm of the world is like this: the ten directions are immeasurable, and the names are also immeasurable. For example, this is the world realm of Saha, just as the owner of the Saha world, Brahma, arises from its name. The immeasurable realm of Dharma is like this: virtue, non-virtue, and the undeclared. Its immeasurability should be understood by the method of detailed differentiation of all dharmas. The immeasurable realm of those to be tamed is like this: since all sentient beings are to be tamed, taming will become one. There are also two types of realms of those to be tamed: those who are connected with all bonds, and those who are not connected with all bonds. Similarly, from having seven aspects to having fifty-five aspects, it is through the detailed differentiation of types. Through the detailed differentiation of lineage, it should be understood as immeasurable, as detailed in that treatise. Furthermore, in that treatise it also says: Among them, what is the difference between the realm of mind and the realm of those to be tamed? It is said: All sentient beings who abide in lineage and do not abide in lineage are not differentiated in the realm of sentient beings. Those who abide in lineage and abide in this and that state are called the realm of those to be tamed. That

The immeasurable realm of methods for taming should be understood as previously explained. Furthermore, it is immeasurable due to the distinctions of its aspects. Why are these five immeasurables taught in this order? It is said: Thus, Bodhisattvas diligently and earnestly engage in the benefit of sentient beings, therefore, first, the immeasurable realm of sentient beings is taught. Since where those sentient beings dwell can also be tamed through their objects of focus, therefore, secondly, the immeasurable realm of worlds is taught. Since the distinctions of how those sentient beings in those various realms of worlds are afflicted and purified by which dharmas can also be focused upon, therefore, thirdly, the immeasurable realm of dharmas is taught. Since among those sentient beings, which sentient beings possess the fortune and can be liberated from suffering forever can also be seen, therefore, fourthly, the immeasurable realm of taming is taught. Since those who are skilled in methods will cause sentient beings to be liberated forever, therefore, fifthly, the immeasurable realm of methods for taming is taught. Thus, the five immeasurables of Bodhisattvas, it is said, will cause the attainment of omniscience. This is also taught in the "Commentary on the Teachings," the "Ornament of the Sutras," the "Compendium of Grounds," and the "Noble Sutra on the Teaching of Excellent Morality." Those are called the distinctions of two aspects, which is the second conclusion. Seventy-fifth chapter. Bodhisattva Manjushri also asked the Blessed One thus: Blessed One, what is the Tathagata's actual enlightenment, what is the turning of the wheel of the true Dharma, and what is the great complete Nirvana? How should the characteristics of these three be understood? From here onwards is the third, which teaches that actual complete enlightenment and so forth, the nature of the three as non-dual. This also has four aspects: request, response, examination, and explanation. This is the first, the characteristics of those three individually.

Please explain how it is endowed. The Blessed One addressed the Bodhisattva Manjushri, saying: "Son of lineage, it should be understood that those three are of a non-dual nature," and so forth, which shows the second part, the Tathagata's true answer. This also has two aspects: briefly showing the answer and explaining the answer in detail. This is the first: "Those three are of a non-dual nature," which is the brief answer. Thus, neither is perfect enlightenment attained, nor is the wheel of the true Dharma turned. Neither is the wheel of the true Dharma not turned, nor is there great complete nirvana. Neither is there no great complete nirvana, which is the second detailed explanation. The three aspects are of a non-dual nature, therefore neither is perfect enlightenment attained, nor is the wheel of Dharma turned, nor is nirvana attained. The three are also not non-existent, because the words are different but the meaning is the same. In the Sutra Unraveling the Profound Meaning, it also appears: "Neither is enlightenment attained, nor is enlightenment not attained," and so forth.
