It is like this: all arising phenomena depend on conditions. For example, the sprouting of a sprout depends on seeds, seasons, water, and fields. The arising of consciousness depends on conditions such as faculties, objects, and attention. The logic of action is like this: phenomena with different characteristics each perform their own function. For example, the eye faculty and so on are the objects of the basis of eye consciousness and so on. Eye consciousness and so on are what distinguish forms and so on. The crafts of goldsmiths and so on are the actions of making gold and so on. The logic of establishing proof is like this: that which demonstrates that the meaning to be proven does not contradict the measure. That which is to be proven, encompassed by its own nature and its distinctions, does not contradict direct perception and other valid means of cognition, and demonstrates the establishment of the proposition and so on. The logic of the nature of phenomena is like this: from beginningless time, the phenomena that abide in their own and common characteristics are known as the nature of phenomena. For example, fire burns, water moves, and so on. These are known as the nature of phenomena. As it says in the sutra: Although the eye is completely pure, it is empty from impermanence to selflessness. Why is that? Because its nature is such by the nature of phenomena. To explain extensively, it should be understood as taught in the treatises Compendium of Abhidharma, Stages of Yoga Practice, Ornament of the Sutras, and Distinguishing the Middle from the Extremes. The five general and specific characteristics are as follows: first, a general statement is made, then the Dharma is explained with words, and the differences between the subsequent words are distinguished, and finally, the ultimate is shown. This eighth is the nature of the general and specific characteristics. In the treatise Distinguishing the Middle from the Extremes, it says: there is a concise explanation and an extensive explanation. Therefore, in that very treatise, the concise and extensive explanations are as follows: previously, the Dharma was shown in one sentence, and then explained with countless sentences.

by distinguishing each other, what is the ultimate? Furthermore, in the treatise "Abhidharma Samuccaya," the gateway of the common and the particular is that a single word is first briefly stated, and then the subsequent words are explained by distinguishing them. In the commentary on the Holy "Perfection of Wisdom Sutra," the common characteristic is like saying "impermanence," and so on. The particular characteristic is that although all phenomena are impermanent, their individual characteristics are different. The characteristic of earth is hardness, and the characteristic of water is wetness, and so on. Among them, the characteristic of one's own nature is like this: I take the Dharma that is in accordance with the aspects and objects, and in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment, such as the teachings of mindfulness and so on, which are said to be the characteristics of their own nature. This is in the Mother Tantra, where the characteristics are divided into eleven aspects, and after teaching from the perspective of the fourth characteristic, this shows the fifth characteristic, which is the characteristic of one's own nature. In this way, the nature of the Dharma that is in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment mentioned above, such as mindfulness, is to hold, so it has the aspect of focusing on the object, and has the nature of the object, such as mindfulness, which is the nature of taking the thirty-seven aspects of enlightenment. Among them, the characteristic of its fruit is like this: abandoning worldly and transcendental afflictions, as well as worldly and transcendental fruits, and accomplishing merits, that is the characteristic of obtaining its fruit. This is the sixth detailed explanation of the characteristic of its fruit. In this way, the worldly path suppresses afflictions, and the transcendental path permanently abandons afflictions, attains liberation from suffering, and whatever conditioned qualities are accomplished by them, that is the conclusion of the characteristic of the fruit. The characteristic of experiencing and describing it is like this: liberation from that
