From the reasoning of saying "only indicating one part of the dharma," because this sutra intends to be concise, it only shows the characteristic of indication that is nearly established by examples of other kinds. The other two characteristics should be understood as previously shown. Among them, in the characteristic called "the characteristic of indication that agrees with that," "that" refers to that treatise. "Other" refers to the same kind. For example, if from that treatise and the dharma of the same kind, a small part of the dharma of reason is indicated, thereby completely showing the statement, then like this, from the reasoning of saying "the similar side includes one part, and the dissimilar side includes all," because the sutra needs to be concise, it only shows that the similar side includes one part. Among them, in the characteristic called "the characteristic of indication that disagrees with that," "that" refers to that treatise. "Other" refers to the same kind. For example, if from that treatise and the dharma of the same kind, a small part of the dharma of reason is indicated, thereby completely showing the statement, then like this, from the reasoning of saying "the dissimilar side includes one part, and the similar side includes all," because the sutra's words are concise, it only shows what is called the dissimilar side including one part. The characteristic should be understood as before. Seventy-third fascicle. Among them, whatever is said to be "all dharmas are known only by the aspect of mind" is called "the characteristic of all agreeing," from here onwards is the second part, separately explaining the previous seven characteristics. Regarding this, there are also different explanations. Some say that this also has four situations: third, showing the characteristic of all agreeing; from "all dharmas are permanent" onwards, is the fourth, showing the characteristic of all disagreeing; from "son of good family" onwards, is generally showing the first and second characteristics, and the sixth characteristic of not being completely mixed; and again from "and from other than that" onwards, is showing the fifth characteristic of nearly establishing by examples of other kinds, and the seventh characteristic of the proof of scripture that is not extremely pure. This is the first, showing the characteristic of all agreeing. Among them, the so-called all dharmas

These are all the scriptures other than the established Dharma. The meaning of valid cognition (pramana) is, for example, suppose one asserts, "Sound is permanent because it is knowable by consciousness, like space, etc." This is like an assertion. Since this reason is common to both permanence and impermanence, it is uncertain. Like a pot, etc., sound is impermanent because it is of the nature of being knowable. Like space, etc., sound is permanent because it is of the nature of being knowable. Those other than the collection of assertions are called characteristics of observing in common because the aspect of the reason is the same. This is what is taught as the common uncertainty in the 'Entering the Correct Reasoning Scripture.' The scripture says, "To be measured," and here the sutra says, "To be known." Although the words are different, the meaning is the same. All dharmas, whatever characteristics of characteristics, nature, action, dharma, cause, and effect are dissimilar, whatever dissimilarity of characteristics, certainly each other's characteristics are dissimilar, whatever characteristics are dissimilar, all are called characteristics of observing dissimilarity. This is the second, showing the four characteristics, namely, explaining the characteristics of observing all dissimilarities. These words of the sutra are also difficult to understand, so first distinguish characteristics, nature, etc., and then show the meaning itself after that. In the 'Sutra Unraveling the Knots,' it says: realm, nature, action, dharma, cause, and fully ripened fruit. In the 'Profound Thought Unraveling Sutra,' it says: All dharmas, from the characteristics of characteristics, nature, action, dharma, cause, and the fruit of complete ripening, are explained extensively up to the middle. Also, in the 'Yogacara-bhumi-sastra,' the characteristics are summarized and shown in five aspects. Therefore, inference from that is as follows: perception together with manifestation, and the object to be manifested. That should also be viewed from five aspects, namely, characteristic, nature, action, dharma, and cause.
