It is not permissible to say that one does not need the sun because one has eyes. As the Blessed One said: Through internal and external causes and conditions, correct views arise, hearing the Dharma from others, and attending to it properly within oneself. In order to generate the substance of merit, the substance of virtuous mind, and to generate wisdom, one attends to it properly. Therefore, it is said that one hears from the Buddha. It is explained in detail as it is shown there. The four fruits of the ascetic life arise from the exposition of characteristics. Therefore, because of arising in that way, because of possessing characteristics, because of cutting the net of doubt, because of being unassailable by others and overpowering others, because of the noble path and the object of the ascetic life, and so on, this is the conclusion of the third explanation of the five characteristics. This is also of two types: concluding by explaining the five characteristics separately, and concluding the five characteristics in general. This is the first, and the five characteristics should be connected in order. "Arising in that way" means that whatever happens, it is said to be in the world. In the explanation of the treatise, it says, "Because of arising in that way," and the rest is in accordance with what is said in this sutra. In that way, through the five aspects, one should recognize the characteristics of the all-knowing one. This is the second general conclusion of the explanation of the five characteristics. Son of good family, if that is the case, the reasoning that establishes validity is because of direct perception, because of inference, because of the testimony of the noble ones, and because the five characteristics are completely pure. This is the second, starting from the three valid cognitions, showing the previous five characteristics as characteristics of complete purity. In this way, the five characteristics shown from the reasoning that establishes validity are also encompassed by the three valid cognitions. The first characteristic is encompassed by direct perception, the middle three characteristics are encompassed by inference, and the last characteristic is encompassed by the testimony of the noble ones. This is the concluding statement. Treatise.

And also in the 'Healing Yoga Practice Ground' and the 'Sutra of Liberation from Extremes,' it appears in accordance with what is said in the sutra. In the commentary of the treatise, it is said that the first five characteristics are combined separately. Therefore, in that very treatise, it says, 'Thus, the reason for establishing with reason is that for the sake of direct perception, and for the sake of inference, and for the sake of example, and for the sake of universal fame, and for the sake of scriptural authority, these five characteristics are completely pure.' The 'Profound Meaning of Liberation Sutra' also teaches this. Among them, what is it that cannot be completely purified by the seven characteristics? From here onwards, it is the second part, explaining the seven characteristics that are not completely pure. This is also shown by asking and answering, and this is the question itself. Apart from that, the characteristic of focusing on the same, and the characteristic of focusing on the different, and the characteristic of focusing on all the same, and the characteristic of focusing on all the different, and the characteristic of establishing an example of another kind, and the characteristic of not being universally known, and the characteristic of the scripture that is not completely pure, and so on, show the second part, the part that the Tathagata truly answered. This is also shown by summarizing and explaining, and this is the summary. These seven characteristics are called impure because they have faults. In the 'Entering the Correct Reasoning Treatise,' it is said that the causes with faults are summarized into fourteen types, so they are called similar causes. For example, there are two types of not being universally known, such as any universally known, and so on. There are six types of uncertainty, such as common and uncommon, and so on. There are four types of contradiction. For example, the cause of the self-characteristics of phenomena contradicting each other, and so on. The details should be understood as explained in that treatise. Among the seven characteristics mentioned here, the first four characteristics are from the reasoning of the treatise on logic.
