is the third, the conclusion, it is just a particle. From "The characteristic of the extremely pure scripture is" onwards, it is the fifth, showing the characteristic of the extremely pure scripture. This also has three aspects, namely, showing it through brief instruction, detailed explanation, and conclusion. This is the first. For example, as the All-Knowing One said, "Nirvana is peace," etc., this is the second, detailed explanation. Whatever is in accordance with this should be understood as the characteristic of the extremely pure scripture, this is the third, the conclusion. Son of good family, therefore, because of these five characteristics, it is called the extremely individually examined completely pure reason, because it is completely pure, it should be relied upon, this is the third, the general conclusion. The seventy-second chapter. The Bodhisattva Manjushri again asked the Blessed One, saying: Blessed One, how should we understand how many characteristics the All-Knowing One has? From this onwards, it is the second, repeating the opponent's words and giving a detailed explanation. Thus, from the previous fifth, when showing the characteristic of the extremely pure scripture, the words "spoken by the All-Knowing One" were said, because it was not understood how many characteristics the All-Knowing One has, therefore it is shown again here by repetition. This also has two aspects: the request and the answer. This is the first, asking about the characteristic of the All-Knowing One. Here, "All-Knowing One" is asked, and elsewhere it is said "All-Knowing in all aspects," what is the difference? The teachers of this place explain through transmission that, as such, whatever wisdom is focused on the mind, that is All-Knowing in all aspects. Whatever wisdom abides in the conventional, that is called All-Knowing in all aspects. In the notes on the Suvarnaprabhasa Sutra made by the teacher, the truly virtuous and excellent, it is said that if combined with the Mahayana scriptures, whatever wisdom is focused on emptiness, that is called All-Knowing in all aspects. Whatever is focused on consciousness,

That is, it is called Sarvākārajñatā. The meaning desired by the Lesser Vehicle should be understood from the opposite of the higher characteristics. Moreover, in the Sutra of the Noble New Light, it is said: "The Sarvākārajñatā, because it has become the root, the immeasurable qualities are well adorned." As it is said, in the notes of the teacher of the true truth, "The Sarvākārajñatā, because it has become the root," this means that the arising of wisdom has been shown before. "The immeasurable qualities are well adorned." This means that the arising of qualities has been shown. There, the so-called Sarvākārajñatā is the wisdom of emptiness, and because the wisdom of emptiness can generate wisdom, it is called "kind." The so-called "all" is the one who possesses wisdom, and because the differences in wisdom are also different, it is said to be "all." The scriptures of the Lesser Vehicle say that all is known as emptiness. There, emptiness is the root of all, and all is a branch of emptiness. Because it is not obtained from the root, emptiness is called all kinds. It is a knower with wisdom, because among those with knowledge, various forms are different. The two kinds of wisdom mentioned here are also different because the teachings of each school are different. Therefore, the Vātsīputrīyas and others say that the one who can know all the dharmas of a person is called Sarvākārajñatā. Therefore, in the scriptures of the Abhidharmakośa, in the chapter on the destruction of self, it is said, "If the nature of a person is not truly established in a different place, then the Blessed One will not become Sarvākārajñatā, because he knows all the dharmas of mind and mental factors. Because they arise and perish differently in one moment." The scriptures of the Sarvāstivādins believe that Sarvākārajñatā depends on the continuum, not the self. Therefore, the Abhidharmakośa says, "Our Blessed One is not called Sarvākārajñatā because he knows all as one." In accordance with this explanation, the Vātsīputrīyas, our all

It is merely called "omniscient," and does not say "I know." Thus, because of relying on the continuum and possessing conduct, the name "Buddha" is attained. Because such a particularly superior ability is completely accomplished in the continuum of the aggregates, and one knows merely by thinking in the mind, and because there is no inverted knowledge arising for the objects of thought, it is called omniscient. But it is not knowing all at once in a single instant. As the verse says: Just as fire desires to burn all things because of its constant power, likewise, one desires to know all things, but not to know all things in one instant. Thus, it is called omniscient by relying on the constant continuum, but if one knows that I am not all-knowing, then if these are combined with examination, whether it is to the Buddha Bhagavan, it is said that they possess the three times. Where is it taught? As the verse says: What were the Buddhas of the past, what will be the Buddhas of the future, what are the Buddhas who dwell now, they eliminate the suffering of sentient beings. Thus it is taught. Your doctrine holds that only the aggregates have the three times, because it is not a person, so undoubtedly such a definite understanding will arise. The doctrine of the Sarvastivadins, the so-called omniscient, if it is from the wisdom of the true and conventional, which wisdom is it based on and taught? It is said: Because it observes both the true and the conventional, it is called omniscient. If it is not so, then the two vehicles should also become omniscient. The Sutra school, and also in the Abhidharmakosha, it says: There are four kinds of wisdom: wisdom without a teacher, omniscient, all-aspects-knowing, and effortless wisdom. If these are not explained separately, then what is the difference between these? Some say that the so-called omniscient is to observe the ultimate truth. The so-called all-aspects-knowing is the wisdom that observes things.
